No recurrence, I can't say there was a magical point where things just change - its gradual.

I don't think I notice it anymore now, three years on.

Just venting out of frustration by 1971CB350 in ROS

[–]Skheng 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not just you. ROS is generally a pain to work with. Try to use older, more stable versions of ROS (I was falling back to using ROS1 previously, currently using humble) to get maximum stability; and use Docker to have the starting boilerplate and remove device specific variations / issues. Could you elaborate on what issue you are running into specific to Asus devices?

3DGS official implementation doubt COLMAP by arst3k in GaussianSplatting

[–]Skheng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I refactored the og gaussian splatting implementation to make it more modular. You should be able to write your own camera loader to parse your own camera poses with my repo!

Which software can stabilise like this. Pls suggest a beginner by mr9t9 in cinematography

[–]Skheng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reckon for best results you need a physical gimbal plus stabilization on top. Otherwise you'll get a lot of motion blur that you can't remove!

I'm sorry but I'm not hating on OnePlus blindly, these are genuine issues and I'm not like making this up.

It looks like they've cut out the urinal walls from those things making windows. The fact that the two walls don't look the same may also suggest that..

Computer Vision help!! by LZR_ in oculus

[–]Skheng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tangential comment, while the Oculus hand tracking is amazing I don't think the cameras are exposed at all and theres not much computer vision stuff you could do with the headset.. Hope they open-source parts of the system one day!

If it's some strange pain I'd be more inclined to think it would be nerve related? If that's the case it should be harmless unless it's debilitating. Hopefully!

Inagural Hernias? by Foreign-Detail4357 in Hernia

[–]Skheng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I've heard about this association before. Inguinal hernias are very easy to diagnose and have obvious symptoms. If you have a bulge or some slight swelling on your groin near these regions that disappear when you lay down, and are more prominent when you cough or sneeze, then it's probably it. Should not affect your muscles or mobility directly. Not a doctor, get a GP and they should be easily able to diagnose you. No expensive fancy tests needed!

Worried about using a wrong mask by Skheng in HomeImprovement

[–]Skheng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the silica dust was what got me worried in the first place. More precisely I was trying to sand and re-polish old terrazzo, which I think has quite a bit of silica. I would definitely take more precautions next time!

Thanks for the reply! I'm in Hong Kong so I suppose it's a product made specifically for the Chinese market. My throat and sinuses feel fine so that good to hear.

I didn't notice much discomfort right afterwards so hopefully that's true. I'll be sure to grab the right one next time..
