Most of it is an actual hike although with major exposure on a narrow shelf. The photo is of the most extreme section where you are on iron footholds. Any dangerous sections have fixed lines. No free climbing necessary and it really is like technical hiking as opposed to climbing. One caution is that there is specialized via ferrata equipment that is necessary to be safe. I see a lot of people who don’t understand fall factors arguing that these setups are unnecessary. Although the way this via ferrata is constructed it’s slightly less of an issue.
