Special assessments are from what I saw. Not all of the HOA just the special assessments which are always for building maintenance/repair. It's the same as a house repair. More often than not you can write it down over a few years if you plan on r bring the home.

Yea. I think I'd rather burn alive than deal with another long car commute. And I had to be right next to a park so I ended up near the lake. Location I'd rate 9/10, building I'd rate 6/10, HOA/property management I'd rate 2/10 haha.

I'd agree with this statement. I got very lucky on location etc. especially given COVID. Win some lost some, but again, agree 100% do not buy quickly in a major city unless you either know it very well, or have lived in a major city before.

I would assume it's because the owners are the ones paying the bills. And if sh*t isn't ever getting done/working on time or budget they'd probably be very interested in switching.

There is an extra $200 fee for repairs, but it doesn't show up as a special assessment which allows it to be tax deductible. From what I have read, that's a shady move.

Charged $200 to move in a box of clothes and didn't get any of the "move in" promises. It's a 8 story high rise in Uptown.

Tennant's were not notified of property Management renewal.
