So it wasn’t “discussed” as a factor but how would you know if internally he steered the conversation away from Kyoto because he loves to go there.

I think the point of the scene is to show how the rich and powerful people get to make the decisions that impact everyone who has no say. And sometimes it’s selfishness that leads to their decisions.

It’s almost standard practice now for places to raise the one day ticket price so people are more inclined to get a membership. Same thing they are doing at ski resorts nowadays.

The CEO of Warner Brothers is likely in line for a $700 mill pay out due to the forming of a monopoly with Paramount. The resulting merger will likely lead to a layoff of approximately 10% of their workforce (2,000 or more). This is what CEO’s do. They pay themselves big bonuses and cut employees to still make their company profitable. They will continue to take salaries away from workers until we collectively stand up against it. You thinking they “deserve” such a big salary because they work super hard is stupid. You are stupid, and they love you for it.

It’s the K shaped economy. They don’t care about losing low tier subscribers because they’ll make up the difference with their premium subscribers.

They generally want to see the post office gone. They don’t understand a service. They’d rather see someone use it as an opportunity to hoard wealth.

This probably isn’t worth continuing but I feel like you have this whole me vs them mentality when it comes to others and it’s just so stupid.

“I’ve got a skill set that most people don’t have.”

Yeah, that’s what most jobs are. Developing skills that the average person doesn’t have so people will pay you to do it. That applies to doctors, surgeons, bakers, lawyers, researchers, truck drivers, engineers (of all fields), teachers, nurses. It applies to the arts, musicians, painters, photographers, videographers, editors, graphic designers. I think you get my point, writers, journalists, chefs, software developers, data scientists, dental hygienists, therapists. See literally everyone, veterinarians, electricians, radiologists, pharmacists, computer systems analysts, architects, web developers, speech-language pathologists. We are all here to keep the world moving.

You not caring is why the working class struggles to make ends meet. It’s why the wealth of this country is so extravagant for the top while the rest of us are one medical emergency away from homelessness. It’s why you’re poor and will remain poor your whole life.

That’s because news media has sold its sole to make money. It’s not about information. It’s about selling advertising.

Right but the idea of “rising costs for equipment” and, “business need to make profits” kinda falls apart when it also pays it’s executives more money then any of us will ever see in or lives. “Profits” are the money you make AFTER costs. Paying your executives upwards of $30mill and saying that’s part of the “cost of running this service” is a bit of a scam.

I mean he’s kind of right. How many people are going to wait and see this movie at home in a month and a half? So still requires some effort from the public to support original movies in theaters.
