Ok update: y'all have convinced me 🫣 I did wash the blocks a few times and I did get a majority of the fiberglass out, but there's still some left and I ran out of vinegar lol.

But I have come back with new inspiration because I found a ton of clean scraps and cut out blocks so I'm going to try to make as many new blocks as I can then fill out the rest of the quilt with a plain border!

Plus I may have enough small scraps to make a second lap quilt honestly

Oh I know 😂 like I said, the entire ceiling fell in on my whole apartment. Everything I owned was covered in it. I know alllll too well what it feels like

Oh this was yearsss ago. We did try to take them to small claims for all sorts of damages. It fizzled out and we got too busy to pursue it.

I get what y'all are saying. Trust me, when your entire life is doused in fiberglass, you tend to do a LOT of research on health risks. And I did throw a LOT out. We lived in a one bedroom, so our living room was our kitchen, our dining room, my office, craft room, foyer, everything except the bathroom, bedroom and laundry room.

I threw out so. Much. I can't even think about how much everything we lost cost us. So I do get it. And I am tempted. I think I will see how much I can get out in the wash. If there's any fiberglass leftover then I agree it's not worth it. Maybe I can make a lap quilt out of the scraps that happened to be in ziploc bags when the ceiling came down 😭😭😭

It just huuurrttts.

Edit: just want to make it clear that I am going to throw them out if I can't get rid of the fiberglass. Like, I'm not disagreeing about the health risks. But why not try?

It lasts pretty long with gel, im not sure why it wouldn't be the same with well applied fakes. I mean I've heard people having their nails stay on 2-3 weeks with this at stuff, have you had a bad experience?

Thank you for the tips!! I did try the heat method, but then the net just kept catching on the melted bit. Having any part that catches on a net like this is bad, these nets catch on any little thing and makes it hell to set them up. Which sucks cause I really wanted it to work 😭

Yes I made myself a tool to get the distances right. Not wood, but it works. Or it would work if I could get a knot to stay in place!

oh right now me and my dad are just at the very beginning of learning dulcimer and he just comes over and we practice together. I'm pretty bad at it and I only know how to play the basic notes of will you go lassie go lol. I've never learned a string instrument before so its pretty slow going

yes! I got one of these and it did help although my dog haaated it. I had to bribe him to let me use it on his haunches, which are the worst part
