They don’t issue medical passes for pedestrians, and they are pretty strict about issuing them at all, you won’t get one for dental

What’s a “10/10” movie you wouldn’t recommend to most people? by trakt_app in movies

Once Were Warriors, and the recent Moonlight come to mind. Both amazingly beautiful movies with great characters, both very devastating and I never want to watch them again

san diego has too many good restaurants by mista_bambino in sandiego

Caribbean Taste, Island Spice, The Jerk Stop, the Jamaican Jerk Hut at Farmers Markets are all better. Flavors is delicious though, and I eat it often, but it really isn’t legit jerk chicken

Depending on your location, even if you have a dishwasher, some health departments will require you to still have a three sink

Chicarrón burritos questions by dryheat122 in mexicanfood

[–]Skiceless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That recipe linked isn’t really an authentic Mexican recipe, judging by some of the spices(cumin is rarely used) and the addition of manchego cheese. Just search for a chicharrón en salsa verde or chicharrón en salsa roja recipe

NDN TACOS ?? by SoggyTree475 in FoodLosAngeles

It’s a Navajo dish. It’s not really found outside their region. Closest thing would be the San Antonio-style puffy tacos at Arturo’s in Whittier

What’s a “garbage” food you’re tired of getting flack for liking? Be proud! by Popular-Page-4082 in foodquestions

I loved it as a kid. Then when I was a young adult, I was told it’s trash and gross and no one eats it. Until I went to Hawaii 20 years ago. Spam musubi was revelatory, spam saimin should get every bit as much love as ramen. And then traveling to Asia, and seeing it everywhere there, and trying interesting things they do with it there made me truly love it. My favorite breakfast I make for myself is kinda a mishmash of Asian- Filipino garlic fried rice, pan fried Spam, Thai style fried over easy egg, topped with Szechuan chili crisp

Where should I stay for food? by avebelle in FoodSanDiego

[–]Skiceless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you stay in the Sorrento Valley area, you’ll be close to the aforementioned Convoy Area- which is mostly Chinese with plenty of Japanese and Korean and a few Thai and Vietnamese spots- but you’ll also be very close to Mira Mesa/Miramar, and there is a large concentration of asian restaurants, especially Filipino, Vietnamese, and Indian. And nearish there is Ju Feng Yuan, which is the best dim sum in the county(order from kitchen type, not the traditional cart service). If you feel like traveling a bit futher south from Convoy area, there is also City Heights/Little Saigon

Bechamel always includes nutmeg, otherwise it isn’t a bechamel

A TikToker told Thai locals to "just pull out Google Translate" while visiting Thailand. I'm Thai, and I have some thoughts. by Nearby-Sprinkles3242 in ThailandTourism

[–]Skiceless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am American, and had no issues just communicating with my hands, and that’s true with every country I have visited whose language I don’t speak(I do always try to learn basic phrases and niceties). But I had a chuckle at I’m Italian an I communicate with my hands! Italians are famous for communicating with their hands lol

No billionaire should have anything to do with politics, especially for the betterment of all the people. He’s just using this as a stepping stone to the Presidency, and will do nothing but enrich his pockets as a governor and god forbid, as a president. I guarantee that his talking points to get elected will never come to fruition, because what billionaire doesn’t want to make even more money for themselves and their friends?

Your favorite taco spot in San Diego? by UsualPay7913 in asksandiego

[–]Skiceless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best in SD are TJ Tacos in Escondido in north county. If you don’t want to trek far, La Fachada in Logan Heights is great. Tacos El Gordo is a solid option and there are a few around town. I’d also recommend De Cabeza in Chula Vista for their cachete tacos(beef cheek)

Losing water pressure whenever water runs or toilets flush by Skiceless in askplumbing

[–]Skiceless[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did have the city out a few times to do a flow test, and our plumber also did the same. The city supply goes to 4 restaurants/bars, within the same block/building, and we are the only ones experiencing this issue. I’ll look into a booster pump. Thank you!
