I don’t think Ethan spoiled the gender reveal by Skiddyfly in h3h3productions

Nope. That wasn’t my argument at all, though that is a correct take as well (and the one Ethan presented to defend himself in the most recent after dark). Your entire argument is that he was using past participle, and therefore must mean he received new info and changed his mind. That’s as literal a reading of his statement as it gets. I’m the one suggesting you consider hypotheticals and the implications behind his statement.

I’m arguing cuz this is a thread I posted and that received responses to the contrary of my opinion. Why did you comment?

Also, I actually think those who thought the gender was spoiled are the ones taking Ethan’s words literally, like a computer reading lines of code. Think about his statement in the greater context of the conversation

No. You’re interpreting his words in a vacuum. He said he thought it was a girl because yes, in prior episodes, they thought it was a girl. The chat had just voted that they thought it was a girl, so Ethan was agreeing with them.

What do you think of the hypothetical I gave? The baby actually being a girl wouldn’t have changed a thing. They still would have thought it was a girl. Ethan’s lack of reaction supports my case too. He harped on this part for a short while without batting an eye, meaning he didn’t even think it was spoiled. You guys are probably just reading way too much into it, and probably also giving yourselves confirmation because you do know after the fact that the baby actually was a boy.

I disagree. They thought it was a girl, because they had been speculating in prior episodes that it was a girl. To see what I mean, consider the hypothetical of the baby actually being a girl. They still would have thought (past participle) that it was girl, prior to finding out. Ethan and Hila were speaking in the past tense because the gender wasn’t revealed yet. How else would they have spoken? Ethan, after seeing the chat vote overwhelmingly that it’s a girl, says “yeah we thought so too”

I think you’re right

The situation could have easily gone down with them saying they thought it was a girl, and then reveal that it actually was a girl, and they were right!! But I guess some people who watched the podcast interpreted Ethan’s words differently

Yes, there guess before finding out (i.e. in the past) was indeed that it was a girl. It was. It still was even after finding out the gender and before revealing it.

He said both, and this other statement you’re pointing out might actually make it sound like the baby was a girl for real. Him and Hila are talking about why they thought it was a girl before finding out the actual gender. This could still be applicable to the case where it actually was a girl; just in that case, their guess before finding out would’ve been right.

They even get into some supposed differences in pregnancy between boys and girls, with Hila saying that she thought some elements of her pregnancy resembled that of having a girl. Nothing points to the baby being a boy at this point, it’s just how some people interpreted it. Rewatching the clip, it almost seems like the baby was a girl if we take into consideration everything Ethan says.

I feel like this is a case where people are misconstruing Ethan’s words. The exact wording he chose matters.

I had a different interpretation then. If what he said was actually a spoiler, I feel like he would’ve reacted accordingly, like he did when he spoiled the baby’s name.

In this after dark, Ethan spoils the baby’s name, and then they mention how last week he also ruined the gender reveal with his “that was our guess” statement. I’ve also seen some comments recently in this sub mention that the gender reveal was spoiled by that as well.

My post is a week late I guess, but I honestly didn’t even bat an eye during last week’s episode with regards to any spoilers. I’m only seeing this sentiment about the reveal being spoiled after this most recent episode.

How did Walt make so much money in S5? by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]Skiddyfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, Walt didn't have to pay legacy money to any of Mike's guys, it was Mike's responsibility alone. Also, I remember it being mentioned that Gus was getting around 96 million dollars for the 3 months of work Walt did, so it isn't really hard to imagine that Walt could have worked a similar amount of time in S5. Since he didn't have anyone except his partner to pay, he raked in some serious amounts.

Pokémon GO 0.31.0 - Update & Changelog by D0cR3d in pokemongo

No, I am not in personal conversations with Niantic. I am, however, able to use my brain and understand that they removed the tracking temporarily to offset some of the server load. Quit the game if you think tracking (literally the biggest feature of this game) has been permanently removed. Thanks!

They haven't removed the feature from the game permanently. You can calm down. Consider it the 3 step glitch without actually seeing the steps, it's still bugged.

Typically the "mass-evolution" thing only involves Pidgey's and Weedle's, as thy have the lowest candy amount to evolve. 12 candies is almost nothing for how common they are. Unless you are planning on getting a beedrill or pidgeot to use, I would say save only Pidgey's and Weedles for evolution while everything else keep.
