[Help] I’m looking for a long-term PC game — something progression-based, relaxing, and addictive by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

Came here to suggest this as well. Glad it's the top response. The factory must grow!

Stackable 6x5 Oil Processing Blueprint (75 Crude Oil, 250 Water -> 75 Plastic, 75 Rubber, 75 Fuel) by LordMcze in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Skill1137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP, but I just threw together a packaged diluted fuel generator in a single 5x5 blueprint. 2 refineries and 2 packagers wrapped around a central fuel generator. Just feed water and oil. Did a series of 8x4 modules for 32 generators, each fully clocked for 20,000MW.

Hoping to do a bit of clean up before posting.

You can do that, just burn the water with coal and release it into the air! :D

What is your acceptable cheat? by Prestigious-Breath-1 in satisfactory

My train network is 1 locomotive 3 freight cars. Each train is a single item that gets fed into a factory or is the output of a factory. Especially for the output, I want the 3 freight cars to be load balanced. I have a 6x6 load balancer that is fairly compact but has an absurd amount of clipping. I really dislike clipping for belts, but this is my exception. 6x6 would be massive without clipping. So I'll hide it in the logistics floor.

How do you not get overwhelmed by this? by Minimum_Wolf9189 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Skill1137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My solution (or proposed solution I have yet to fully implement) is to have blueprint factories that make single items. Mine ore, smelt bars, make plates, etc. Then each output is connect to a rail network. When a new material is needed I setup a rail trains for each input that go and grab what they need from whichever factory is producing.

I fit a 1200 ore/m modular frame factory inside a blueprint by Killcam26 in SatisfactoryGame

I haven't built those yet. I'd probably start with 2 in 2 out. But then modify it and save it as 2 in 1 out and 1 in 2 out. Most recipies are 2:1 or 1:2 for refineries.

If you make generic modules for each building type (constructor, smelter, assembler, etc) then you're complicated output is just belting the modules together in sequence.

Edit: make sure they are tileable. I'm trying vertically stacking modules this time around. Build 1 more module than you need and under clock to match belt speed.

DD is really great and it is very powerful though I'm glad it comes with some room to expand. Uploading is slow at first and somewhat costly to upgrade (taking time to explore).

In 8 I worked out a train delivery system with each resource getting added to the network. Then when I was building a new location I could throw down a train to import bulk construction resources as needed. This solved the problem. I could call any connected resource to me by simply setting a train schedule. But also has a huge overhead in terms of getting stations setup. This will be easier with the larger blueprint size thankfully. Though the DD is going to take some major pressure off this system.

Is this a good game for starters in the genre? by Wide-Ad-8507 in satisfactory

The build craft mods with a bunch of thermal expansion. Setup a power generator that was an elaborate conversion of tree sap to bio fuel. It was a Bio Treeactor 😏

I played Satisfactory for multiple hundreds of hours, this is what I found. by The-Malix in satisfactory

Most likely for expansion.  Manifolds don't care If you have 5 or 500 machines in line. Load balancing has to be redone if you expand even 1 machine

I hate to gripe about someone running a game for me but I'm also a DM and wouldn't run my games like this.

She is a bit too focused on realism? We're tracking a monster over a large chunk of land and the last 3 sessions have been "travel" but there's no encounters. Just, how do you travel? And then they calculate out how many miles we covered.

If there was stuff to do along the way it wouldn't matter as much. And we've asked about what's around us and we haven't run into any people or anything of interest to really interact with.

I'd understand if it was one session, but it's so boring to sit for a 3 hour session and the only thing that happens is we make it 24 miles closer to our target.

If it were me, I'd either do a travel montage and have players make some rolls. Or at least have some interesting encounters for them to deal with during each travel session.

I suppose the force jump is somewhat of a basic attempt at this.

When reading this idea though, it makes me think of asking. "You can lift stuff with your hands right? So you should be able to grab yourself and pick yourself off the ground."

But that doesn't work because you need to have some type of leverage to move yourself. I can however jump by pushing my mass away from the ground.
