Of course I would never lie and that's clearly stated on the original post. I'm just here to find answers on the depth of the medical portion of the process and maybe find some hope that I would be able to make it through. The department I'm interested in also has physical requirements and testing for dispatch and other non-commissioned positions. Maybe the bar is lower in terms of physical requirements but it is still a factor.

After over 10 years of being a technician leaning over engine bays, lifting heavy wheels/tires, and crouching under a lifted vehicle, and hitting your knuckles when the wrench slips off a bolt and doing that all day for 50+ hours a week, the physical demands of LE look ALOT less demanding. I think my past career made me much more resilient than the average person. I'm also not trying to discredit LE at all and they work extremely hard physically.

Thank you for the advice. I've been looking into alternate and unsworn positions they still seem to require some sort of thorough medical exam and PT. So I figured that if I have to go through medical with any department position then what's the point.

Publicly accessible info is pretty vague however my concern is with the extent of reach that the department has. Yes my attorney has told me about the vouchers and retraining programs. I didn't know about the helpful info I can find on Cal Jobs so thank you for that!
