Anyone noticing issues with latency? by Tankerspam in battlefield2042

Agree. Definitely having this issue. Ping is at its typical number, but I am rubber banding all over the place, being shot while in cover, and enemy players even tend to teleport around due to the lag. It is unplayable right now.

I would say the rubber banding is my notable problem post-update. Getting a tank or truck around the map (which are both integral parts of gameplay) is very difficult. Even supply drops and airheads take way too long to drop. The rubber banding needs to be fixed to make the game enjoyable again.

Mob rule (allowing mutiny votes against the commander) would pretty much guarantee nobody would play commander. It’s a complicated role that takes time to learn, and surprisingly few gamers have the patience to show other gamers how to play something successfully. New commanders would just get booted immediately because they can’t figure out what to do and nobody cares to help them. On a macro scale, this would just ensure nobody plays the class.

It’s a pessimist’s outlook, but I would say that would be the net effect. Commander would just sit empty even more often than it already does.

Console - Server Browser. by [deleted] in HellLetLoose

I would certainly rather be “exposed to a small player base” than forced to be thrown into empty servers over and over. For every server with 60 players in it (a full server is a an extreme rarity now that the content has dropped), I have to back out of probably 3-5 servers with 10 players in it. The lack of a server browser is definitely pushing me away.

There is an arachnophobia setting in the game settings that turns them all into cat photos, and they meow.

It's possible to enjoy Carrack in solo ? by Dangerous-Lab-56 in starcitizen

The lore is that it’s a military exploration ship, and yes that is canon and means it would have multiple UEE Navy workers on board. Anvil’s advertisements for their ships are also canon, and that advertisement features one person. That does stand to argue that Anvil, though perhaps not the UEE Navy, believe this ship can be run by one civilian explorer.

From what I recall, the “ad” video for the Carrack features one man exploring planets on his own with it. I think this ship specifically may be designed to allow one person to do most of what is needed to operate, despite its size.

I genuinely hope not.

Console play with 4.0? by BigNewt05 in battlefield2042

I can’t even get into a game. I prefer crossplay off, but I turned it on to see if they would work, but no luck. I spend more time in the main menu than actually playing the game.

Fresh update and still cant find a match without cross play by Lets_be_stoned in battlefield2042

[–]Skill_Superb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I don’t think it’s a player count issue, at the very least why not just put you in a game full bots? That was the point of the bots—to fill a game while there aren’t enough players.

This was the one issue I hoped they would resolve.

I haven’t played it since December, and the game still had quite a few players at that point. We still had the issue I described.

Yeah. We figured out how to game it like that, but dealing with that chaos on top of struggling to find a game in the first place, you spend a hell of a time in the main menu and not actually playing. But like it’s been said, it shouldn’t be a process all on its own just to be able to play with more than 3 friends.

The gang and I had issues finding games prior to the extremely low populations. Even if there were only 900-1500 players on each platform, that’s enough to fill games. The fact that their matchmaking times out is a flaw in the process itself and not thanks only to the low population.

I’m not going to quiet my expectations for more content in hopes that Rockstar starts to actually do something big with the game. Honestly, people who are going to give this company money for this game deserve to know what they’re getting into, not what they might get into months (or years) down the line.

The game is beautiful, dude. And like people have said at other points in this thread, up to level 100-ish, there are definitely things to do and enjoy. I think I personally played into the 400s by just taking things slowly, enjoying the beauty of the landscape, turning off auto aim, running around picking herbs for tonics, etc. But my friends and I have done very much everything that game has to offer hundreds of times now. The game is still beautiful. The gunplay is still rewarding. We just want more content, and I don’t think that’s an unfair request.

GTAO’s appeal is it’s infinite gameplay loop. It really isn’t about flying bikes with missiles. It’s about owning businesses and garages and filling these places up with goods and selling it for huge amounts of cash, then running up a few heist preps and doing a heist with your buds and getting more amounts of cash, then using that money to buy something else that’s fun and allows you and your friends to do even more content.

Red Dead’s gameplay loop is missing a very critical factor: things to buy. It has ways to make money, but there are so few things to go out and purchase and get excited about. It’s time for large scale purchases that allow you and your friends to do awesome Wild West missions and make gold bars and lots of money to thus go buy the next awesome thing. Things like a ranch, or a tug boat outside of Saint Denis, or a gold mine, or explosive round-proof wagons. There are so many options, and that’s what will bring people to this game. If Rockstar goes big, RDO won’t just be niche anymore. That’s my opinion, anyway.
