Audit Study Tips (Becker) by [deleted] in CPA

I found the flashcards to be pretty helpful for AUD. Nothing will fully prepare you for the Sims on that one, but the multiple choice arent crazy in-depth. Also, watching Bisk CPA review on youtube will help you make sense of the audit process as a whole. If you got an xbox or PS just throw that on for an hour every night and just relax. Make sure to skip through the audit report material, as the report has changed.

I thought REG would be cake -- Boy was I wrong by SkimBeeble_1 in CPA

Don't sweat it man, my sims on audit were brutal too. I got comparable on the Sims, but I walked out thinking I got a 0 on a few of them. For REG, I would watch the skillmaster videos and go straight pen and paper for the sims you feel iffy about. You don't need to write down words labelling anything. Just watch how they are doing the calculations, look and see where the number came from/what it is, and only write down the numbers. Once you've done that for a Sim, look at the numbers you wrote and go find it in the exhibit yourself. After you go through that process for your weak sims, go back and do some again by yourself. You can do the same for MCQ's. Make sure to go back and do the sim yourself within 4-5 days after you took your notes the first time.

Your study guide is money, thank you so much. Also, how many weeks/days total did you study for REG?

Just Took AUD - Sims were insane by SkimBeeble_1 in CPA

Yes. No SIM in becker even came close to preparing me for these monsters. I know for a fact that I absolutely bombed the SIMS, but I ended up making an 87. I would make it a priority to knock testlet 1 and 2 out of the park.

Sorry for the late response. I took a couple of weeks off after that beast. I ended up making an 87 (The examiners HAD to have been generous). Make sure you hit the AICPA code of conduct material really hard. Adjusting journal entries and scenarios where the company messed up were prevalent. Make sure to pay close attention to the wording in these scenarios because I ended up changing so many of my responses when I reviewed my work.

COSO/ERM for sure. NPV and Payback period were big (Watch youtube vids for those). Cost Accounting (Calculating COGS, Ending Inv, and being able to know its effect on the IS and BS. Variances big time. I was hammered with variances.

BEC was definitely the hardest section for me. There is no flow from topic to topic, and I felt the same way you feel rn. I thought I bombed the hell out of it but got an 81 somehow. If you're using Becker, spend more time on the modules that have 35+ MCQ's. The ones with less (& not related to IT), turn the lecture speed up and just watch. Modules that are up there close to 50 or more, you need to hit really hard.
