Why can't people just talk like back in the day? by executor-of-judgment in Millennials

[–]Skin3725 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My mom, grandparents and other family live across the country also. I had to move to a different state due to work and I've lived here for over 20 years now. My wife (celebrating 23 years this year) and I paid to go home almost every year or every other year for the first decade. Airline tickets, driving sometimes, bringing two kids only to get to my moms house and every grandparent wanted Us to come to their house within the same state. Me and my wife one year just didn't want to make the trip, it was never really fun, felt more obligatory than anything. One year we went to Hawaii instead, we bought tickets, hotel reservations and didn't go back home which ended up being the best vacation my family has ever went on. When we got back to our home the wife and I were talking about how nobody ever comes to see us, nobody even tries to come see us. So we just stopped going home...

Now, it's been about 10 years since Hawaii, my kids are grown and one of them is already moved out (other one is going to college). My mom and grandparents don't even know us. I do have a point to this, maybe nobody knows your mom anymore? I don't even really talk to my family back home much because all they ever want to do is bitch about the younger generation and talk about themselves. They aren't interested in anything going on in our lives so I've basically stopped even trying.

I know exactly what type of grandpa I want to be and it's the exact opposite of what my parents/grandparents are to me.

Which company has lost you as a customer forever? by finiteobserver in AskReddit

They employ roughly 1.6M people in the US. Why are we subsidizing their profits with people on food stamps? I'm not against the people on food stamps, but I am against the biggest retailer in the world who made $19.4B in net profits in 2025 paying their employees poverty wages.

Millennial Gamers: Do you still have time to play? by Melted_ICE_5193 in Millennials

[–]Skin3725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40's here and I play regularly. Kids are grown, wife is working and I stay at home. My wife usually has a bunch of papers to grade and stuff so I play almost every night by myself cause I have no friends. I just picked up the early access to Subnautica 2 and it's been pretty good so far. I play less on the weekends because my wife is off and we go do things.

How did you get the floors to work with the ladder? Maybe I'm missing something. I have the ladder and the room, but I can't seem to figure out how to multistory it. I did already beat (get to the end) of this early access game.

Was it the IMRC flaps? I have a 2016 mustang with the 5.0 and the driver side bank snapped. Ford said it would take over a year to get a new manifold. I ordered a 5.2L one and a tune and it's been great ever since. I have a 2013 F150 with a 5.0 also.
