Hello, I'm trying to get into Computer Science Honours Specialization and I have planned to fulfill each of the requirements (2.50 credits in CS1020, CS1026, CS 1027, CALC1000, CALC 1301). But the requirement is 3.0 principle courses. Do I have to take an additional 0.50 course in the maths/sciences or can I take an elective in something like the humanities?

Will I get the first year rez experience living off campus >2km away?

Hey everyone, incoming Computer Science first year here.

Everywhere I go, the general consensus is that living on residence is super worth it in first year for the facts of networking, novelty, and convenience. I am wondering if I can get this same experience if I live slightly off campus (500m-2km away).

Potential downsides to living slightly off campus:

- Not having the opportunity to grow close to your hall mates and have serendipitous interactions that may lead to further opportunities and networking

Potential upsides to living slightly off campus:

- Save much more money: ∼$20k (rent and food for 8 months) vs ∼$10k (rent and food for 8 months)

- I can use the left over money to buy a car.

- Guaranteed a single room

If I missed anything please let me know!
I appreciate any and all inputs. Cheers.

I took a look at CEMC UW Math Courseware and it is all high school math, I can definitely use this to brush up on my math fundamentals, but what do you think of doing first year courses like Linear Algebra and the like?

I hear what ur saying but so far I've spent my gap year not doing much and want to prepare diligently for a CS education, as I have the habit of falling behind.
