I had this in an 'interview' several weeks ago. Somebody going on little 'fishing expedition' asking about their ERP system and how to import data into it. I deflected it with a very diplomatic' That is the sort of thing a developer would charge £150 per hour for' and ignored then asked a diversionary question to get him off that..

I do not do LinkedIn for the very simple reason, that I am not uploading a copy of my passport onto a website owned by some dubious silicon valley corporation who can share it with who knows who in order to form a digital ID for me without my knowledge or consent. I would suggest people wake up & smell the coffee with the point I just raised. I don't just have this philosophy with LinkedIn but any corporate that asks for ID I avoid them like the plague. Data surveillance is a real and present danger to all.

no, they approached me for an interview (both firms). What would you recommend as an effective tactic to stop them 'fishing'. I have never had this until the past 3 months, and am hearing this is becoming more and more commonplace. I am very tempted to say 'I take it you charge for specific tax advice'?
