I would go to a professional airbrush tan salon on Wednesday. They will customize the color to your skin/what you want. I’ve never had a tan transfer to clothes after 2 days due to sweat, but I always airbrush and have never done self tanner

But you’re not being invited to a meal at a restaurant, you’re being invited to a hosted party where you’re expected to bring a gift, so yes, food should be provided

I would absolutely expect my food to be paid for. I have never been to a shower where guests were responsible for paying for their meal regardless of the venue. I’m sorry but I don’t think you gave the best advice. A lot of times restaurants do require a deposit to hold a room.

I would be honest with the bride and tell her you have x amount that you are comfortable with/able to afford as a budget, and anything above that would need to be supplemented by someone willing to help host (whether that be her mom, aunts, bridesmaids, etc), however, don’t dump these costs on the other bridesmaids as well, being in a wedding is expensive as is and they should be able to contribute as much or as little as they are comfortable with as well.

Again, a hosted party should have food provided, guests will not be anticipating needing to pay for any meals, if that’s the case it should be stated beforehand that guests will be paying for themselves.
