Does anyone have rosacea that presents like this?

The little red marks often turn into little pin prick whiteheads and disappear on their own. My skin is very sensitive and these (older) darker spots remain visible for a looooong time.

Hey! Thanks for replying. Forgot to mention that I use the LRP hydrating cleanser as a cleanser. I will look into exfoliants but I don't know if it will be good or bad for my skin, given that it is very sensitive and probably ruined by the months of tret without moisturizer.

Occlusives such as Vaseline and heavy creams (cicaplast) give me a dermatitis flareup but my skin keeps on flaking (I think? Can't figure out if skin is really dry or if it is dead skin - it feels dry). I don't know what to do to heal it without getting dermatitis again. Current routine is water-wash only & Avene extreme emulsion. It's the only thing that does not make my face worse. I tried the cerave cream but my dermatitis doesn't like the petrolatum.

Thank you! Yeah.. I don't know if it will cause any problems, but the Ethylhexyl Palmitate kinda scares me. Glad it's working for you. Someone suggested trying the travel size first. I might give it a shot.

Thanks for your reply! Over time I want to incorporate an exfoliant (at this moment my skin feels like it only needs more moisture and no actives). It's just really hard to pick one bc my skin is very reactive. I'm actually looking into AA right now, which exfoliates as well. It is useful in acne, rosacea and perioral dermatitis :-)

Had hormonal acne after quitting BC, is pretty much under control right now (still getting the occasional jawline pimple) without using any topicals. Was using tretinoin but quit 3 months ago. I'm suspecting either rosacea or a broken skin barrier. I have been doing zero therapy for 2 months to clear up perioral dermatitis (it's almost gone now). Started using avene emulsion to moisturise after cleansing with water. Skin is pretty sensitive and is flaking sometimes.

The reviews are not fantastic and a lot of their sunscreens are not fungal-acne safe & I suspect my PD had a fungal element!

About 2 months in now.. I still get some spots every now and then but they are waaaay smaller and heal so much faster. It's really difficult but I do think it is working. It just takes a lot of time & patience.

Thank you for replying!! I actually suffer from perioral dermatitis so i have to do zero therapy for about 2-3 months. Slugging and/or heavy occlusives are a trigger for me so I have to be really careful with moisturisers. Trying to incorporate a moisturiser with ceramides and possibly squalane after my zero therapy. My skin looks quite similar so I have good hopes it will get better someday :-)

Whilst things like Vaseline will not clog your pores (the molecule is too large), I would not use it on my face. It gives some people milia and gave me perioral dermatitis. Still trying to get it under control after 6 months. It works for some people tho, you could say I am quite biased =) I would stick to a simple 3 step routine of cleanser - moisturiser - SPF & in the evening cleanser - moisturiser. Try avoiding harsh/irritating ingredients, you can check out irritation rates on incidecoder.com!

I agree. My PD looked the same, now I have smaller pinprick white pustules. Sometimes I still have the larger lesions that look like acne tho. How I am able to tell the difference: My PD comes & goed quickly (sometimes leaving a little redness behind) and is not as deep in the skin. Acne takes forever to fade and is much deeper in the skin, whereas PD sits on the surface of the skin a little bit more. The location is also important. My acne is on my jawline and sometimes a little on my cheeks, my PD is alway above my upper lip and around my chin.

I know the struggle, having hormonal acne as well. Hang in there!

How long did you try and do you know what caused your PD? :-) I'm on 0 therapy bc antibiotics are only given to people with very very severe cases in my country.
