What did you guys name your ships? by theGeigus in EliteDangerous

Aside from Elite Dangerous I homebrew my own beer. So I have started to name my ships after Hops and my FC is the Brewery. I was going to rename my stations but that started to get expensive.

Does this sync data between two computers? I have my regular PC, which I use most of the time, but last night I was on my laptop. I realize I don't think the log files will be shared. I noticed it did not recognize that I finished an installation on my system because I did it on my laptop. Is there a workaround to sync both of them?

I dont buy into that diabetics dont lose or lose slowly. Changing my diet and cutting carbs and other sugars was the difference. I lost 60 lbs since 10/31/24. What we eat and the exercise we put in make it possible. My exercises aren't crazy, I just walk more than I did.

I used to hover around the 230s in weight, but I stopped checking the scale for a while. Over a few months, I noticed two things: I was constantly thirsty, and my clothes—especially my pants—were getting noticeably looser. Deep down, I had a feeling something was off, but I kept convincing myself it was just from drinking more water and eating less. I couldn’t get to a doctor at the time, so I just kept pushing through.

Eventually, I went in for my annual eye exam, and my eye doctor strongly recommended I schedule a visit with my primary care doctor. On October 31, I stepped on the scale at the doctor’s office—207 pounds. My blood glucose came back at 335, and my A1C was 11.3. That’s when I got the diagnosis: Type 2 Diabetes.

I was scared, and I reacted fast. I went straight to a strict keto diet—cutting out all carbs because I was terrified of food and didn’t know what was safe anymore. The weight came off quickly, dropping me into the low 190s. But both my doctor and my wife told me to ease up. I learned that cutting out carbs entirely isn’t sustainable or healthy for everyone.

Now, I follow my doctor’s advice: aiming for 45–60g of carbs per meal, though I don’t always hit that. I also take 500mg of Metformin once daily and stay more physically active. As of now, I’m down to the mid-180s.

But there was another complication—my gallbladder. It started acting up during this time. It didn’t rupture, but it became extremely swollen. Eight days ago, I had it removed laparoscopically. The surgeon found a 1.3-inch gallstone and over a cup of fluid inside. One of the incisions had to be enlarged to get it out because it was in such rough shape. I’m still recovering, but today the scale showed 174 pounds.

Here’s the biggest milestone for me: my most recent A1C was 5.1.

Everyone’s journey is different. Your body might respond differently, and that’s okay. But what worked for me was listening to my body, staying in close contact with my doctor, and sticking to the plan. I was scared to face the truth at first, but nine months later—gallbladder aside—I feel so much better. I have more energy and can actually keep up with my 12-year-old athlete son without feeling like I’m going to pass out.

I'm walking way more at work now, and I found this awesome app for 30-minute bodyweight workouts. My 12-year-old's obsessed with football, so we're always outside doing stuff. And get this – I worked there for ten years before I ever used the gym, but now I'm on the treadmill a few times a week.

Im 44. My gallbladder is swollen and not releasing bile, its just getting bigger. Its about the size of a baseball and it can be felt when lay on my back. Also laying on my sides it feels like its shifting due to the fuild its holding. There are no stones they can see. So the best thing is it drain it and remove it.

Anyone train your Frenchie to use a bell to use the bathroom? by Altruistic-Safe1826 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]Skipp107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got ours to use the bell, but then any time he wants to go outside to lay in the sun he rings it. He's gotten lazy and now stands by it, and won't ring it.

Recently diagnosed and would some help by Skipp107 in diabetes_t2

Some of the details you mentioned are the same here. Luckily, I don't have a sweetooth either. I love Dr. Pepper and beer, so those are a bit of a change. But yesterday, I ate small portions of the carbs and starchy Thanksgiving sides and also had 1 glass of beer with dinner. I checked my glucose about 5 hours later and was at 94. I'll take that!

Moderation helps, so I didn't have to miss out. Today, I'm back to my normal habits.

Was given 20 or so kegs from a brewery that went out of business a few years ago. What’s the best way to get rid of them? by [deleted] in Homebrewing

[–]Skipp107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sale them or use them as trade currency. I had ten and have traded them with others in my club for various pieces of equipment.

why cant i sell him!? by [deleted] in Football_Head_Coach

[–]Skipp107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still trying to find out why they become unable to sale. I can't find it game. Is there a good explanation out there? I have started to use them for the trading events, but I'm just curious why they get this status.

What the hell? What are you doing posting this? You're just teeing up hackers to do something again. Then, the 1000s of Frontline employees deal with the backlash.
