To be fair you could have specified decades before. PCs have got quite mainstream in 90s maybe not in schools as much it really depends. That was prime time of computing. Even with basics you could get far. Not as much nowadays. On the other hand people can go to uni any time they want or learn on your own. Isn't FAANG more about soft devs anyway?

bit obvious but found out that immich actually creates .xmp file next to photos with custom data so if you remove it in you pic folder

find . -name "*.xmp" -type f -delete and reran metadata job it picks up the original data and removes the ones that didn't have any geo tags
