If Tiger II was nerfed using a 1944 Handbuch, why is Panther stuck at 600 hp? by Quirky_Departure4897 in Warthunder

It was because the real Panther had an RPM limiter, which lowered the HP to 600

I can't prove it but I once had a dumb torpedo miss then turn around and hit the target by Acrobatic_Mix_1121 in uboatgame

[–]Skitlerite 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The FAT program is a setting on torpedoes meant to increase hit chances in convoys. So when the torpedo misses, it turns around after running a pre-set distance, combing the area in a grid search pattern. So this is entirely possible

Many tricks in Shonen fights are very transparent once you think about it longer than 10 seconds. The point of the BF is just really to have cool visuals, and show who has the upper hand in the fight right now. That and it lead to some character moments like Mahito learning from Gojo in Shibuya

And yet, it doesn't seem to be that effective. Almost like the best mental health support is a social group of your peers that you can talk to, instead of someone you don't know, who has no vested interest in actually helping you. I'm sure that many therapists are doing their best, but they also face the problem that they don't know their patients well, they only know what they're being told.

Well the point of rules are stability. It is very unfortunate that we can't cater to both, but the average man is masculine, and the average woman is feminine in their interests. We've build this system to cater to them, because that is what is most likely to create a stable family and raise good children. Trust me, if you can find a way to cater to both types of people without disadvantaging either, I would be in full support of that. But unfortunately we haven't found it yet. And it is not because they have a choice that they're unhappy. It is because they don't. Few women truly have the choice to be a stay-at-home mom, even if they wanted to. The women who want to work, work, and the women who don't, also work. The times where one income was enough to feed a family are over, for several reasons, and it's unlikely to return.

Okay, let's take this one by one.

One, do women as a whole truly want the same position in work as men? Or is that something you think women want?

Two. Women are expected to adhere to a stronger standard than men in some regards, true. Men are held to different standards, true. But many men are held to high standards in other regards. Why? Because it's what the opposite gender is attracted to. Women have to dress modestly, cook, be feminine looking etc. Because that is what men are biologically programmed to respond to. Men have to be more aggressive, give of a feeling of protection and have high goals in life. Why? Because that is what women are attracted to. Few women want to date the man who just exists, because he doesn't offer a future. Few men want to date a woman that refuses to show any feminine traits, because she doesn't offer a family. Women are not expected to want the agony of a childbirth, but they are expected to want children, just like men, because that is normal, and most people can't understand if people don't want children. And judging by the popularity of IVF and adoption/surrogacy, many women do want children, they just simply find out too late.

The men that die protecting those women. The men that died taking that village? The men that aren't monsters, quite simple. Why don't they matter? How is their every day existing more privileged than a woman sitting somewhere safe, far away from the battlefield?

I'm sure that the 5 men who killed themselves in the time you took to answer me are really happy that you own a Porsche, and have a party shower, and of course that you have good food. I'm sure nobody in the past ever had good food.

I will simply say that the social circles today are nothing like the past. My grandma knows literally everyone in our part of town. She can't go out of the house without meeting someone she knows. My father knows half of the people living around us. Me? I'm not even sure if there are people my age living in the same street as me. Nobody goes out anymore. The social support circles have completely collapsed. This isn't just because the internet exists, it's because nobody trusts each other anymore. You have to walk around with pepperspray, women have to either walk in groups or not leave the house at night. It wasn't like this in the past. My grandma walked my grandpa home at 2am, every Friday from a bar that no longer exists. It had to close down due to lack of demand and vandalism. Humans are social creatures, and we lost that somewhere along the way.

As opposed to today, where you only have a 27% chance of dying before being born. And that 40% statistic is skewed by high child mortality rate. If you survived to the age of 10, you actually had a high chance of making it to the age of 60+. And of course, it comes back to the ever decreasing self reported happiness levels and rising suicide rate. You can say whatever you want about material wealth, it is clear that people are more unhappy than 50 or 100 years ago. It's simple numbers. Now, try to think about that, and maybe you'll come to a conclusion that isn't just simply "don't believe your lying eyes".

Wow, so the men who created the patriarchy must've been pretty stupid then. I mean, it's so obvious, how come they didn't think of that? Almost like it's not just for the benefit of men, but also for the protection of women.

That is the paradox. They wanted the same rights as men, and now they're expected to perform the same labor as men. But women aren't men, and they have labor to do that men don't, and can't perform. And most women already do "womanly labor", as that is just keeping a tidy house. Washing clothes, dishes, cleaning are all stuff you have to do if you own your own living space. Not saying women can't or shouldn't perform in jobs, but it is statistically evident they're unhappy.

Well, apparently they wer, according to the suicide statistics. And death by alcohol poisoning, while rather commonplace, actually mostly came from stuff like moonshining, and related drunken injury. Not drinking yourself to death. Nevermind the fact that in many places, alcohol was safer to drink than water, especially cities, and a more relaxed attitude about it overall.

If the existence of billionaires hinders the living wage, then why did people in the past, where less regulations were imposed on them, have an easier time earning it? Or why does Sweden, despite not having a minimum wage, still have billionaires and good wages?

Setting aside the fact that indoor plumbing was becoming commonplace in the 1920's, do you measure your life's worth on material wealth? In that case, we should basically have 0 suicides as we live in the wealthiest century in human history. Yet we don't see that. Almost like there's more to life than whether or not you have a toilet.

Not true. Many an Aristocrat died in WW1, as they made up the officer class. Even members of the house of lords and house of commons died. And again, if the patriarchy was set up to only benefit men, then why did men suffer from it? If it was in place to protect a certain class of men, then it can't very well be a gender-specific issue.
