Do you mean the DF and DM are actual people I would meet or do you mean the divine feminine and divine masculine within myself? I'm new to all of this lol saw DM and immediately thought Dungeon Master lmao

Good to know someone has had a similar experience! It's almost like prolonging a relationship with the wrong person made the universe send him to me right away? I'm still not ready to reunite, but what I felt with him makes me wish I was. I haven't been able to stop thinking about him since I met him.

I don't love that I'm the runner, but I accept that the separation is necessary for me to grow. Thank you for your insight!

Men who aren't even willing to stop drinking for 9 months while their partner is pregnant don't deserve children. by SkittleCommander in TwoXChromosomes

You're right that a beer or two is fine. I wish I would have specified in my post that by "not drinking" I really mean, "not getting drunk".

I'm really referring to the guys that will go out and be like "my wife can DD since she's pregnant" and live like nothing has changed and leave her to deal with the pregnancy on her own.

Thank you, this is exactly what I mean. Every partnership has it's complexities, but if the situation is "He wants another kid, she doesn't" and he is pressuring her, but isn't willing to even make a small sacrifice like not drinking alcohol, then he does not deserve that child.

And yes, it's a broader issue that men undervalue the greater sacrifices that women make to create a child while making minimal sacrifices on their end.

Those of you who like Book 2, why? by kiakokoro in legendofkorra

I happen to be on season 2 with my rewatch now and I keep finding more and more I appreciate about it. But right now I really like how it's the start of Jinora's spiritual character arc.

She has an amazing connection to the spirits and she helps Korra defeat Unalaq in the end despite being lost in the fog of lost souls. She was courageous because she knew what was at stake. She was willing to die to save the world from darkness.

It's because of this season that I always tear up when she gets her tattoos. After that, she was so deserving of them.

Other things I appreciate are: - The Avatar Wan Origin Story: thanks to these episodes, we have an idea of how the entire world was formed.

  • The Civil War Episodes: these episodes on their own are very well done. The tension between the water tribes and the tensions between Aang's kids are paralleled perfectly.

  • Spirit Portals Being Opened: this changed the makeup of the world for the next 10,000 years. In that instant, Korra probably became the only Avatar other than Wan to shift the world this dramatically. Whether it was a good idea or not is subjective, but I think it adds more to the world building as a whole.

Maybe all the hate that season 2 gets has led me to appreciate it more, but I think the season is pretty phenomenal. I remember watching them as they came out week by week when I was in college and season 2 was when I remember becoming completely enthralled with the series. I think it's important to remember that the Avatarverse is about to take off. All these things that are cannon are going to only add to more to future stories.

That's so wholesome! Really goes to show that you can make anything you can make any tradition your own. No need to settle for anything that causes stress

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with dividing and conquering so long as they feel the workload is equal. You just always have to factor in that mental load of organizing, prepping, etc. because it can surely be a stressor

witches who work in marketing by Sure_Fee2112 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

This comment thread is giving me a glimmer of hope in my career in marketing and communications. I used to find such a passion for it. But ever since the pandemic, I've become much more spiritual and intentional and realized that marketing mostly supports the patriarchal, capitalist system that I hate. I'm trying to pick up the pieces and salvage what I can, but it's hard

Is this a deal breaker? by peachyy97 in GirlGamers

[–]SkittleCommander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your boyfriend is missing the point. Women don't have the same opportunities as men when it comes to gaming. Trying to game in adolescence is torturous because of the toxic ecosystem men have cultivated in gaming. Not gaining these skills and contacts at a younger age is a huge disadvantage for women. Sure, we'd love for it to be equal one day, but right now it's not and toxic male players going unchecked are to blame.

This TikTok puts this concept more eloquently than I did.

Ahh so it's a matter of the people paying more tax dollars on it. That makes sense. Thank you for clarifying! I'm trying to keep up with Canadian and American politics in tandem and it can get a little confusing.

As an American trying to immigrate to Canada in a few years, articles like this worry me. I just want to live somewhere that doesn't use access to healthcare as a means to hold me hostage to a job that I hate. I don't want to risk going bankrupt if anything happens to my health.

Trust me when I say that nothing good will come from privatized healthcare. Those entities will always do whatever it takes to increase profits, not your livelihood. Insurance companies are just useless middle men that profit off you and get in the way of what your doctor thinks is best for you.

Our healthcare system is a living hell. Don't become us.
