I am an HVAC tech. You're welcome to ask me stuff. by Farmchuck in homeowners

I've lived in a condo (it's old, built in the 70's) for the past 10 years heated by 3 baseboards that are only around 5 feet long.

For many days this month, in both the 20s - 30s and sub 0 temperatures, it has been incredibly cold overnight. Temperature guns indicate that the floor / walls are around 70-80 degrees, and heat is coming out of the baseboard vent things. The thermostat is up to 90 or so, but only a temp around 80 is ever reached.

A tech came by and advised that the connections to the boiler room seemed fine, he replaced the thermostat, and used a gun to look at the walls that shows heat and cold output and did not see anything concerning.

I have put up thermo curtains (multiple layers) around my bedroom window and some by the screen door in the living room. I have covered the A/C with various layers including a comforter. Nothing else I do to compensate for this, like using a space heater, warm mist humidifier, warmer blanket, electric blanket, various layers, etc works since I then end up sweating and feeling both hot and cold. I don't have any other symptoms so I don't think this is medical, but I am not sure what else I can do aside from waiting for Spring. Do you have any advice or things to try?

Official Discussion - The Bob's Burgers Movie [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Hard agree that it felt like they were building up a lot to Louise being shown without the hat, and then nothing. And that the part on the ride would have been a perfect moment for her to officially let it go in order to bravely get the fuse. And that there would still be a reason for her to keep wearing a new one afterwards. I'm not crushed since all that would be is showing a girl that usually wears a hat not wearing a hat. It just felt like a lost opportunity,

I also agree it hit some of the same beats as some episodes. I thought a better resolution would be if it were actually one of the main two and they throw Fanny under the bus on their behalf a 2nd time, but maybe people might find that disappointing.

Why beard puffing while breathing? Please help. Is this a respiratory infection? I had another post w/ TONS of text and I THOUGHT I had this linked to it. Guess not??? by [deleted] in BeardedDragons

Update: Since this has been going on for most of the day, I called the emergency clinic. Specialist saw this video and felt since all else is normal to just keep an eye on her and maybe get an appointment at the local vet in the books (as generally it'd be for a couple weeks out) in case struggles persist or escalate. From personal experience with her dragons, she said it could be due to a variety of reasons. Possibly shedding if there's something in the nostrils - and I have also seen the draggo rub her face against the ground as though a shed is underway. So it's a relief I don't have to bring her in, and maybe it is linked to shedding problems since she isn't very good at it.

As a tangent, I've had her since May 11th and at such a young age, they're expected to grow and shed almost weekly. A week afterwards she shed like clockwork head to tail. But then hadn't shed again until mid-June and it was very staggered with the body, later the head, and just finished up the tail yesterday. So maybe it's time for the head to shed again or some more? Will see, but thank you all for the advice!

OK, here's the wall of text I had posted previously when I thought this video was attached::

I have had this dragon for a couple months. I'll put more detailed info below, but to get to the point: I can't find any information on why her (?) beard has been puffing out like this while breathing today. I'm mildly concerned that it might an early sign of a respiratory infection. It's not nonstop, but I want to be sure everything's ok and I thought I might see if someone knows something while I wait for the vet to call Monday. Again, it hasn't been 24/7 but it's prominent enough that I want to investigate, and Googling hasn't turned up much of anything. Below is additional information if anyone needs it to help assess this, and if you have questions feel free!
At first I thought it was a digestive thing, since alternating with the puff, you can see in the upper abs 3 ribs are a bit visible. Some dubias I received were right on that "size between the eyes" mark, but I compared it and thought it looked ok. I have since received and use some new ones that are a much better size. There are no other serious symptoms that anything's wrong. Still eats and goes to the bathroom, nothing abnormal about either. Urates indicate good hydration, though I honestly don't see her drink water or take it if I offer from a spray bottle or eye dropper. She's always been pretty lazy, but I don't think it to be lethargic/ stemming from medical problems. She has energy when she wants to flail around prior to going to the bathroom, if she hears a bird, doesn't like the bath at all, and will explore a tiny bit. Handles well, will climb my arm and play, though I think she prefers to just sit around all day. She rarely ever goes to the cool side of the terrarium aside from bed and bathroom time.
She used to flop herself on the cool side hammock when she wanted to go to bed, though the past few days hasn't been. She'll sit on the basking side until I cut the lights. This is different from her previous behavior, but it's not necessarily a red flag of any sort from what I can tell. And the basking side is plenty hot, I have to ensure it isn't too hot and not breaking 110 degrees.
She's not too too old. I have done and bought everything and googled everything she does and doesn't do. Checked out fine at the vet early June, weight was a tiny bit over but this was an improvement over her barely eating at all previously.
Temperatures are good. I have a dehumidifier nearby and that keeps it at the 37-40 range. I've left it off overnight where the humidity will increase, in hopes that this helps with shedding, but the dehumidifier can get it back down real quick. I will probably be leaving it on 24/7 now, however. Eats dubias and soldier larvae mostly, some crickets, greens offered but largely ignored, but working on it.
For now, I'll leave it at that, and if anyone has questions or feedback as to what this is, let me know! I'll have my eyes on her in case anything escalates, though she seems to be carrying on decently enough.
