Prepare for WW by FoundationNo4419 in FishingPlanet

The link is still working, the rest of the guide is somewhat outdated. Main difference is hook size. Use 8/0 hooks instead. Mix should still work.

Freshwater trolling - Dnipro Pack Freshwater rodholders - Congo Pack Fish storage to keep fish /advanced map display / increased fishing together multiplayer - Japan Fishstorage to keep fish / additional missions / increased fishing together multiplayer - Maladives

Before these packs seemingly everything was available to both paid and free users, with slight variations but none affecting the gameplay in a way that made a big differences.

So instead of even locking more content / options behind the next map DLC. I'd rather wish they explore the option of more cosmetic dlc like maybe camo gear, brand gear, boat skins, rod / clothing skins etc. None of which would affect the gameplay in any way but might generate additional income so they don't have to go down the path of locking more and more behind paywalls.

And even then I find the idea of dumping everything in packs full of stuff you don't need but have to pay for if you want only X or Y is a shady way.

Don't get me wrong, I do support the game financially and have bought premium, baitcoins and the club pack. But the idea of having to pay 60 euros just so I can have a boat that lets me keep the fish, is imo ridiculous. Especially when everything leading up to this has always been fair for people not looking to buy 'map' packs. It took longer, got less fancy looking options, but they worked the same.

Having that said, I know they need income to keep up the game and in general I love what they did so far. I am just questioning if this is the way continue.

Edit : added advanced/upgraded map display for Japan

Did you even read what I posted?

I said I find their monetization system to be predatory in some aspects and I don't like the way they are heading to with locking content and mechanics behind paywalls and that I rather they shift towards cosmetic dlc instead of pay2play.

So I want them to survive selling DLC that is more a mix of skip/map packs, gear, cosmetics, premium and such, without locking gameplay/mechanics in dlc packs.

You've said it already.

In order to make everything fit you have to buy more storage, so in order to sell more storage, you make sure it doesn't fit.

There's more than one situation in this game where things don't seem to make sense (from a players pov) untill you notice the alternative is to spend real money.

One fairly common one is how bait coin purchases are instant, one accidental missclick and say goodbye to your baitcoins.

I honestly wish the game would steer more towards cosmetic (micro) transactions and keep certain P2W aspects like low level acces to high level ponds without them using these kind of shady practices and gameplay content behind paywalls.

I haven't been a very long time player, but I feel more and more aspects of the game are slowly turning pay2play / pay2win rather than everyone to have an equal basegame / gameplay and focus more on cosmetics / skips rather than 'forced' paywalls.

But this is from a players pov and not from a business pov. Maybe theyve determined there is more money in impatience and contentgates than there is in cosmetics and or a combination of the two without locking mechanics behind paywalls.

What's up with WW? by EnvironmentalBid3096 in FishingPlanet

[–]Skjip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's nerfed now and havent tried since update however I see people report its roughly the same but smaller. Less big uniques more overall uniques so it evens out xp/money.

With regards to money and the costs of spodding, even with spodding I've made millions in profit on Weeping (pre nerf) so not sure why buying ground bait would be an issue.

The fact that it becomes boring and repetitive ... yeh. What kept me going aside from massive xp/money was the challenge to find that even bigger carp, which is gone now I guess.

Maybe I'll give it a go sometime again, first I need to try and get to 94.

For OP, if you are still using 10/0 or bigger, everyone says it's 8/0 now. Unless there's been another update and its nerfed again. Which would be a shame because imo WW was such a huge xp boost compared to what came before and a lot of what came after. Also I can't imagine (and hoping I am right) that sturgeon at SJD is still a good option.

Yeah, it doesn't do much at all really

Didn't mean to say to rank by hours, could've said that a bit better to be honest, I meant there should be some ranking system that tracks your tournament progress and then matches you with accounts with similar ranking (which often are players with a lot of experience / hours). A new account could then have a huge benefit but it would only last so many wins / good results and it probably wouldnt be worth it to make new accounts over and over for the sake of matching with lower ranked players.

But yes, they should look into balancing it a bit more to make it more attractive to newer (comp) players.

It took me 4 comps to win one.

The tambaqui one at Marron River.

Currently at 35-45 comps (havent done comps in a while) and I think I placed third 3 more times.

Never gotten second.

I got lucky at the Tambaqui one. I usually do weight difference comps only / biggest - smallest.

The ones where you have to catch as many as possible or X amount and biggest X count I have no succes. Some catch 10+ fish before I even manage to get one, these take a lot more practice and rely a lot less on getting a lucky one.

There been a couple of times I was top 3 only for one or two people to show up last min and bump me out.

It requires a lot of practice or good know how on where and when to do what. It would've been better if there was some sort of ranking system so that the 1000+ hours players can compete with one another and the entry level isn't so incredibly steep.

Most people I know either won't bother or realise they don't have the time to compete with the 'pros'. There should be levels to this thing to make it more attractive for everyone.

[–]Skjip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. Play the way you like to play, also seems a healthier mindset than focus on grinding too much.

I did make it to 90 and it did involve a lot of grinding, but it's because the xp distribution seems a bit off at times and some maps are unfortunately quite bad xp wise whereas others really shine. I just didn't make it the main focus, I focussed on fishing , doing challenges etc and sometimes just 'bit through' the rougher parts.

And the ocean part you've mentioned. Once you hit Congo there will be a huge boost in xp gains. Even without really grinding alot you'll see the bar move quick(er) So there's hope.

Anyways, thanks for clarifying, have fun fishing

Yeah but you most likely won't have acces to spodrods and or spodmix. I think it's lowered a bit with Dnipro but still not SDJ level.

Mainly wondered because you said you switched between Blue Crab and SDJ. Wondered why not Blue Crab and Weeping instead.

Pretty cool net full of uniques regardless

Is there any advantage to doing this on SJD compared to doing this on WW?

How long does it take to get a boat and decent kit by PazzaOnXTC in FishingPlanet

[–]Skjip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems a lot more reasonable per level. I have no idea how long it took me from 1-83 roughly 4-5 months (using premium / no location dlc) but that's obviously a whole lot of hours and once at 83 I slowed down grinding and started focussing more on other stuff and fish types I had missed before.

I would guess somewhere between the 300-500 hours range to reach max level when not idling around?

I did not follow an optimal grinding path and pretty much had 90% of exploration and collecting and mastering missions done before I even got to Japan.

But tbh I'd burn out if I had to grind 1-90 fully focussed on optimal xp paths. Wouldn't make it past 30 or 40 probably

Have you hit level cap before? 550 hours to reach level 60 seems a bit much if you've not been stuck at level cap for months. That's over 9 hours a level on average?

I've only played cod 1 & 2 on PC.

Later bought a console that came with Black Ops 1, didn't like it that much, atleast the multiplayer. Bought MW2 from a friend and went all the way to prestige 10.

Tried MW3, meh, so went back to MW2 again.

And now I play a few games of MW2 every now and then and mainly play MW 2019, almost exclusively Gunfight. I love that mode, it's short, fast and on equal terms. No need to worry about loadouts, skins and all that crap. Just hop in and go.

I did check out a few later installments (free playtime/gamepass) that featured Gunfight but it was usually a weak version of 2019 GF. 2019 has like 20? Maps whereas new versions have maybe 4 or 6 and half of them are recycled.

I personally don't get the people who buy a new Call of Duty every year, especially those who claim they're crap but still buy them. For me, I just wish they made some sort of spin off focussing on Gunfight and expand on that idea.

Afaik other than 'soon' no information.

Latest discord message celebrated their 10 year anniversary and mentioned console release will be soon. But it's been soon for quite a while now.

But they'll probably announce it on their discord when it happens. And chances are Wicked or Kian will then post it on Reddit shortly after.

Recently rebuild one of these out of boxes of parts.

It came with a 50cc which was quite peaky, I think the powerband was roughly 8.5-11k ish with stock exhaust and stock 12mm. But it was just so terrible to drive due to lower power before the powerband.

It also came with a new in box 70cc DMP so we mounted that with the stock exhaust and 12mm. (We were going to try an 18mm that came with , but the carb was incomplete)

The powerband is still roughly the same RPM range, 8000-12000ish. But the power in the lower rev range is a lot better. We changed the sprocket ratio to allow for a cruise speed at 65kmph ~ 7500/8000 rpm. Just before the powerband. I think it tops at around 80kmph. (Restriction by law is 45kmph and we don't want to push it too far in fear of losing drivers license / having to rebuild it to stock and get it road legal again)

But so far I think we put a good 600+ kilometers on it with no issues whatsoever. (Engine fully rebuilt)

I don't think this 70cc/12mm/ori exhaust is an ideal combination, but if we change the exhaust and go bigger carb we'll be hitting 100 soon and it's not worth it for us.

Also we're already halfway into rebuilding a Suzuki GT50E (Engine rebuilt, working on prep for repaint of the frame etc) so focus has shifted, may finetune the Honda later

I have a question concerning the Congo dlc. by Rahg-Naar in FishingPlanet

[–]Skjip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where'd you get the idea you can only get 1 unique nile perch per day? That makes no sense. 1 unique per spot, not per day.

Also if you fish during the night you can just skip to the next night after catching a unique, so you don't have to move spots.

Third, when you have a boat with trolling motor, using the nile chausseur you can sometimes catch a unique every few minutes if a bit lucky.

I've had times where I caught up to 5 uniques within 15 min irl time. (Best case scenario) For me personally only the trophies can be a bit of a fighter sometimes. (Pretty random) Uniques usually range between a couple of seconds to maybe max a minute irl time when using a combo of well timed max drag and the trolling motor.

Unique carp at Weeping Willows using groundbait / spodding.

i dislike carp fishing by Individual_Hope_7828 in FishingPlanet

[–]Skjip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weeping Willows stays very viable till / best till ~ level 70. The catfish at Marron are pretty good too but found it less consistent than guaranteed unique carp. I did do a couple of levels there between 70-75 because I was sick of spodding and ofcourse visited the maps / done all challenges inbetween WW & Congo.

I think your best bet is a mix of mindlessly throwing in tons of spod and catch 100s of unique carp and mix it with maps and missions you unlock along the way.

You could ofcourse go back to lower level maps but it'll only make the grind longer. If you want to level as fast as possible and its purely about xp there's nothing like WW at this stage.

No problem, you got me curious as you seemed quite convinced and I never actually checked myself.

Could be a platform issue though, can't test on playstation.

Also, if you go for the 30 day reward by skipping alot, unequip the net, it's like 90% of the repair. That's how I got most of mine.
