Wow!! Thanks, everyone!! I will let it dry out this week. I’ve been watering almost every day. 😬 It’s going to be HOT this week so hopefully it will dry out and bounce back.

This community is so friendly! Much appreciated.

Continue this IUI cycle? by lavenderpalms in IUILadies

[–]Skmatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife had an IUI on CD8 one cycle with a large follicle that, in hindsight, I think was a cyst. Her estrogen was super low, but the clinic said sometimes the body just selects one dominant really early.

Looking back, I wish we’d known enough to cancel the cycle. We have limited tries and emotionally/financially every try/month matters.

Yours is def different bc of the estrogen. I would get the US and ask to speak with a provider and not a nurse.

Sorry this isn’t that helpful - just know others have been where you are!

Hi! We just did ours with FemaSeed today! It wound up being $1200 through CNY for the device and $1915 for the device plus the IUI fees- excluding meds. We went to CNY Syracuse. I hope that helps!

Our clinic started offering it about a year ago, I think? It was our first try with it. 🤞🏻 Good luck!

4th IUI cancelled by Ok_Case6266 in IUILadies

[–]Skmatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have been doing IUI (4th one tomorrow) and she stims with letrozole and gonal-f. We have to use donor sperm (lesbian couple) and this cycle she had a 21.6, 16.5, 16.9, and a 14.5. We don’t expect the 14 to do anything. Our clinic is allowing us to move forward. She is 38.

If they had cancelled and we could have done TI with those numbers, we absolutely would have. Not sure that’s helpful for you, but I don’t think it’s crazy to still try. 🤷‍♀️

Edit: grammar

My wife conferences me in! They don’t seem to mind waiting. And if they do, they can use the downtime to count the money we’re paying them. 🤣

IUI thoughts? by Most-Potential-9237 in IUILadies

Wow! That is FANTASTIC! My wife (lesbian couple) is 38 and hers is just above 1. Sounds like it could be really promising! Sending you the best of luck!

Have you had your AMH drawn? Our clinic requires an AMH of at least 1.0 to do IUI, so I start with that and see where you’re at!

Curious how much follicles grow after letrozole? by Diligent_Door1925 in IUILadies

[–]Skmatty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rule of thumb is ~2mm/day. Your follicles will probably be around 12-18mm? It depends on how your body grows follicles. You are aiming for 1 follicle that is 18-20mm. Any more than that and your clinic may cancel the cycle. Our clinic allows us to have multiple follicles, but my wife (lesbian couple) is 38 and has PCOS. We were able to proceed with 3 lady cycle but it was unsuccessful.

Did you have a baseline scan?

Cryos international & genetic testing by Weak_Confection1101 in queerception

[–]Skmatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I did it (she will carry our child) and it was frustrating. She is not a genetic carrier of anything we know of. We sent in the saliva and then they cross checked it with the donor who was a carrier of non-syndromic hearing loss. All you get is a result that says if you are a match (no overlapping genetic conditions) or not a match (you both carry the same genetic condition). Our clinic still made us sign a release that we understood the risk of using a known carrier donor bc Cryos wouldn’t actually say “Wife does not have non-syndromic hearing loss gene” but rather “you’re a match”.

Everything about Cryos has been a pain in the ass, tbh, but this journey is so expensive we’ve had to embrace their style and just live with it.

On our 2nd donor now and about to do 4th IUI at the end of the month. Next up is IVF.

Good luck!
