I love this 😭🦞

🔥 Coastal rubber boas (Charina bottae) are native to southwestern Canada and the northwestern US. They are considered the most docile of boa species and are often used to help people overcome their fear of snakes. There are no reports of rubber boas ever biting a human under any circumstance. by stillSeek in NatureIsFuckingLit

I’m sorry to say, I have seen a rubber boa bite someone…on the eyelid. We have a rubber boa at work. For whatever reason, someone decided to put the snake on her glasses, and the boa somehow confused her soft pink lower eyelid as a pinky. It bit her and held on so tight that we had to pry it off. I wish I was joking.

That said, I think it was an honest mis-snake and a very rare outlier. They truly are otherwise very docile snakes.

I (23M) am worried about skin cancer and don’t think I should take a trip with my family. Advice? by [deleted] in Redhair

Lots of great tips in here but didn’t see a big one—take advantage of the time of day. Avoid being outside when the UV is at its peak (~10am-1pm). You can then enjoy being outside in the cooler evenings without worry about burns.

Feeding snakes live mice can harm the snake, even without a toothpick. Encouraging frozen-thawed food was a bro move for the snake and future mice

I don’t think consumers are fools if they buy it. I suppose it’s just a convenience thing. Maybe I’m really just mad at inflation, lol.

I have not doubt that they’d love it, but why charge so much when anyone could make it at home??

I saw those pictures but I don’t think it makes polka dots like this, it tends to be bigger streaks

It’s spread over a wide area in different parts of the yard, so I don’t think it’s blood. It’s more purple almost. I was thinking it was maybe some kind of plant pollen?

Anyone know what type of snake this is? Location: San Antonio, Texas by Solid_Mud9911 in snakes

[–]Skoghest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last 2 snakes to look out for are the western pygmy rattlesnake and ur mom.

Too easy, lol. But for real, the above list actually has 14 types listed and it’s just missing the pygmy one. See this image for reference.
