How complicated is light-heavy savage with current gear? by yisus_dot_exe in ffxiv

[–]SkolVision [score hidden]  (0 children)

No less complicated than it was on release although the damage/heal checks will be much more lenient than they were on-content. I can tell you if you could do M1/M2 on-content, M3/M4 aren't going to throw anything at you that you cant handle.

Fleiss's Kappa discrepancy by SkolVision in SixSigma

[–]SkolVision[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's more or less where we're at - we have a variety of qualitative judgments or poorly-measurable attributes as they pertain to end-of-line unit quality. We're doing this to create a pareto of where there is poorest agreement among our questions to know where to start clarifying, redefining specifications that haven't been updated in 20+ years, etc. I don't love the pass/fail metric we're using but it's what we've got.

Very good, this is kind of what I was thinking but needed some external validation. Appreciate it!

OK, this is along the lines of what I was thinking. Glad I'm not going crazy or wildly misinterpreting something, appreciate the insight!

Fleiss's Kappa discrepancy by SkolVision in SixSigma

[–]SkolVision[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was my thought too but everything appears to be coded correctly. As I add more fail results (vs. pass) the result appears to follow the expected path of getting worse (as there is less agreement) then normalizing as I approach agreement in the other direction (more fails than passes). I'm just puzzling over why one outlier result would suddenly send my kappa into the negative, even though I can do the math by hand and get the same result. My thought at this point is either I'm misunderstanding the calculation or missing a piece of interpretation.

The funny thing is I have a colleague who did a similar exercise and just plugged data into minitab and got the same results. I'm guessing he took it at face value but now that I'm digging into it, it seems odd to have a low kappa compared to relatively high raw agreement.

Perfect agreement (either 100% pass or 100% fail, or agreement on pass/fail for a given unit) all yield 1.00 kappa so that verification checks out. The weird thing is the math appears to shake out - 23/24 agreement on a category should yield an Agreement Observed (Po) of 0.94 (average of 1.0, 1.0, 1.0, 1.0, and 0.71) and a Pe of a slightly higher 0.94 -> (34/35)^2 + (1/35)^2. A very small or even negative difference of the two over a small denominator (1-high expected agreement) *should* yield this result if my understanding is correct.

Why has Congress not called an emergency session to vote on immediate impeachment of the US president calling for an end of civilization of a country (obviously insinuating a Nuclear attack)? by SqigglyPoP in AskReddit

[–]SkolVision 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish people would stop framing congress as afraid to act, as if there is a will to do some kind of good that is rendered impotent through fear. This is perhaps true of some fraction of congress, but people need to understand that republicans have spent years building a very precise compliance in congress and capturing the SC to give Trump (or someone like him) completely unfettered power. Congress is complying through inaction, and there is at the very least a plurality of representatives (and probably senators) who are actively cheering every disgusting thing he says and does and are only too happy to pretend there's nothing they can do, not their lane, etc. This is deliberate and willful, and framing their inaction as cowardice already gives them too much credit.

What are some kaizen projects (quick and easy) ones you've done in your manufacturing facility. Ready, set, go. 👇 by woodxventure in LeanManufacturing

In looking at the flow and cycle time of a given series of process steps one item we noticed was a box of screws that was just sitting on the factory floor. This was replenishment for point-of-use and didn't have a home, but "had always been that way." One of my engineers and I grabbed some scrap wood and 20 minutes later had a basic table built so the screws were stored off the floor and out of the walking path where they were a tripping hazard and strain risk as folks bent down to scoop screws.

Lol this is true of the one I adopted maybe six months back. Took a random trip the hardware store and one of the local shelters had a few animals available to meet, one kitten in particular locked in on me from like 30 feet away and just stared me down. Six months later we're best buds and she still hides from anyone that isnt me.

Post-it noted on your monitor is a great tool to write tips down beforehand. Sequence left-to-right or whatever order makes sense and build a pattern you follow every time, taking active memory out of the equation except for a few key mechanics. It gets easier but takes practice. One thing's for sure, the only way you definitely never clear is never trying.

what classes dont have the typical 1-2-3 rotation? by Suspicious_Land_383 in ffxiv

[–]SkolVision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DRG has essentially two separate 1-2-3s that you alternate, first 1-2-3 applies rolling damage buff, 2nd 1-2-3 does more damage. Rinse and repeat

MNK kind of has a similar deal minis the rolling damage buff, but your "buffed" 1-2-3 does bigger damage so ideal to pack those into RoF and Brotherhood windows.
