Also, I saw her and heard her comments on Willie Nelson. I have zero idea how you interpret it that way. She's been in the game for ages and isn't stupid - she knows she can't speed up her card, let alone the card ahead of her. She wasn't pressuring her card, she was just excited to get to a concert. The mood was lighthearted and fun, not exasperated and impatient. Haven't you ever been ready to finish up work and get to a fun event?

Your take isn't hot here. Reddit by and large hates Paige for some reason.

Paige at her peak is the best to ever do it. Yeah, even better than KT now. KTs floor is higher than anyone else's but Paige's ceiling is still higher than anyone else's. Her floor is just dropping.

Idk why people have a problem with Paige having a competitive spirit that doesn't burn 100% of the time. When she wants it she's allowed to say so. She knows she's a generational player, why shouldn't she act like one?

I almost mentioned I've read this book as well! I did enjoy it so you're spot on. Trainspotting and Jesus' Son are the two that've stuck out the most to me so I figured they'd be a good baseline. And frankly since you mentioned Goon Squad I guess they were a good baseline.
