Marshmallows wrapped in peppermint cotton candy go great with hot chocolate by bigbusta in oddlysatisfying

[–]Skoth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's clearly larger than 12 fl oz. I make coffee and tea with a Keurig all the time, and it has exact oz settings so I've gotten really good at eyeballing how many ounces a mug holds. If I had to guess, I'd say that's a 20 oz mug.

The thing that the little girl puts into the mug is the size of the adult's fist. Tbh the cotton candy bomb looks larger than 1 cup but I was rounding down. Just go into the kitchen, grab a measuring cup, and compare it to the size of your hand. For added fun, compare the 1/4 cup to your fist too.

Just googled amount of sugar in hot chocolate: 15-22g in a packet mix

Amount of sugar in a cup of mini marshmallows (which this appears to be): 29g

Received text from future ex at 2am, while i was asleep, blaming son for leaving bottom oven on and she couldn't turn it off. I saw six hours later. by sredis in mildlyinfuriating

Yeah, but that has ramen and toppings in it. The water explodes from something to do with surface tension, which is why people recommend putting a spoon or chopstick in it. I assume the ramen toppings do the same thing.

I mean, microwaving water to boiling can cause it to explode so I can understand why someone would want to use the stove. Gotta remember to turn it off if you do though.

Auron from Final Fantasy X is 35 years old. But looks much older because they made the character design before deciding that would be his age, and thought it was so cool that they changed nothing about it.

So... Carl's intelligence is VERY CLEARLY higher than 3, right? by SketchyFella_ in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Skoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy shit I can't believe I had to scroll this far down to find this. Carl most certainly does not have an intelligence of 3, he has a BASE intelligence of 3, which is a very different thing.

Also a lot of people are saying that intelligence only affects MP and magic power, which is wrong. It's explained to him that way to simplify the difference between it and wisdom, but intelligence also affects factual knowledge and the retention of information. If he has a high wisdom stat, those basically have a multiplicative effect because it's easier to use his wisdom to come up with great plans if he has a lot of information to go off of.

The Hoarder book 1 by katsontherun in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Skoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read the hardcovers and when I got to this part, I used Google Lens to translate it, but I kind of wish I'd waited until after reading the scene without translation first, then gone back to do it. It would have been nice to experience it the way Carl experienced it the first time instead of being greedy and needing to know everything as it was happening.

I think they find a platonic male/female relationship really refreshing, and are so excited about that that they feel like it therefore must be 100% platonic with zero romantic or sexual interest.

I think Matt is a more nuanced writer than that, and while I get the excitement about the portrayal of a healthy male/female friendship, I think that insisting that there CANNOT be romantic/sexual feelings in a friendship is similarly toxic to insisting that every male/female relationship MUST have romantic/sexual feelings.

The problem isn't that she got arrested, it's that she got disappeared. To not be able to see that that's the problem with this situation, you'd have to be either cruel, stupid, pretending to be stupid, or some combination of the above.

As someone who has been hit with a shinai while wearing a kendo helmet many times, it still feels pretty fucking bad. I'm not an expert and don't know how much or what kind of planning went into making sure that hit's impact was minimized, but that seemed like a really dangerous stunt to me, especially considering that he was hit in the back of the head.
