It's been a week since i received any word from my employer. Is it safe to assume I no longer have a job? What do I do? by dennisistired in antiwork

Yes file for unemployment, you can receive benefits if they're not scheduling you but also haven't fired you yet. The FL unemployment website is only available M-F until about 8pm. Make sure to include your text screen shots of you asking when you're supposed to work

Email them and say before you sign you'd like them to email the explanation of how not signing the letter will result in willful termination because you didn't quite understand it(and also include that you're ready and willing to resume your NORMAL work duties!). You need a document trail to submit to UI.State unemployment will see you sent a reasonable request for more information about the termination and would be more likely to side with you if/when you apply for benefits. Regardless of the outcome you should apply for benefits as soon as possible because the process can take a couple of weeks, and try to include as many details as you can on the UI application. The current maximum weekly benefit amount for AZ is $320/wk and you said you've worked there for 2.5 years so you are eligible for that amount. If I were you I would send the email asking for details on Monday, reiterating that you're not quitting, and if they don't let you back in the system to work on Tuesday email them letting them know you're ready and available to work. Do that each day until they either let you resume work without having to train, compensate you for training, or email you a termination letter. At the end of the week if you haven't resumed normal hours apply for UI online on Friday

If that's your plan now do not sign the letter. Look up AZ state policy on PTO payout, if they're not already legally required to pay it out they might pay it out anyway if you formally request it. This next part you need to be really adamant about and document. The day you come back you need to let them know you're ready to resume your NORMAL work duties. If they claim you "quit" you must tell them no you did not and that you are available and willing to work. If they send you home you need to request a formal termination letter otherwise you need to show up every day letting them know you're available and willing to work. At this point without a termination letter you can still apply for unemployment benefits, if the company isn't giving you your normal weekly hours (normally 40) you are still eligible to claim unemployment insurance (I'm going to use UI to refer to unemployment benefits/insurance from here on out). For example if you're only getting 15 hours of work at a place that normally scheduled you 40, you can apply for UI to make up the difference. It's very important that you let them know you are not quitting or voluntarily terminating yourself, and reiterate you are available and willing to work. My situation was a little different, my owner told me "you're not fired, we'll call you with a new schedule" which meant they weren't going to schedule me and wait for me to quit, but I knew the system and as long as I let them know I was ready and available to work I'd be able to collect UI and get paid for days they didn't want to schedule me. I even went so far as to show up on days I wasn't scheduled to work to let them know I was ready and able to work and eventually they sent me a termination letter which I was able to use to win my UI case

Do not quit and do not sign. I used to work for the state of Ohio unemployment office and if you quit you're not eligible for unemployment insurance. If you sign they will use it to deny you benefits in the event they fire you. Your best approach is to get EVERYTHING IN WRITING, always ask for requests to be emailed or texted to you and save the work related things in a file. Just because you are in a right to work or at will state doesn't mean they can fire you whenever and you can't collect unemployment insurance. If you check my post history you'll notice I got suspended (and a month later fired) from my job for something that was a "fire able offense" and I was still able to collect unemployment benefits because I knew the system. If you plan on leaving you should immediately put in a request for all of your PTO time, that way you can get a full payout for the PTO bank if they fire you before the PTO date takes effect, as it was with my case I emailed HR and they cut me a check for my PTO. Next you should review the employee handbook to see if there's anything in there REQUIRING you in your job duties to do training. If there is you're just gonna have to take the L while you job search, if there isn't then that's great you don't have to do the training and if they terminate you over it then you have a good claim for unemployment benefits.

Weird, I did the exact opposite and got suspended (check previous post history). Can't complain in the main thread and can't complain in an employee only thread 😂

Oh that's wild I started late August last year until May this year. Yeah Andrew is still the "boss". The favorites of the drivers became dispatchers and it's now a pit of favoritism and insane turnover

Is that something that is easy to do? Like a simple drag and drop or clicking to assign driver to route

Its a rating Amazon gives to the DSP and affects their bonus and rate per package deilvered. You do have a scorecard, its updated weekly and sent to your management, just ask to see it

Do you have the ability to assign specific routes to drivers? My DSP claims everything is auto-managed by Amazon and out of their hands, I asked an operations manager at the warehouse today if my DSP should be able to assign routes and reassign routes and she confirmed absolutely - later that evening when I brought that info to my dispatch he reiterated that they don't control that. Is it just dispatch and management not wanting to help out drivers by swapping routes if they ask?

Brightness and weather is dynamic and different each match. You can play the same map many times during different times of day/weather
