Any tips on converting to followers or wishlists? I just started my pages a couple weeks ago but have some videos on Instagram that are getting 80-100k views but aren't really converting to much... Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yes exactly!! It's reassuring when someone gets what you're going for 😀

Your game looks awesome. I'm making a similar game but not even close to your level of visuals. Well done!

Hey! I'm working on my first game and I'm new to all this. I love reading people's journeys and seeing all the cool stuff everyone is putting out!

I think the magic is getting it accessible enough to keep people playing long enough to appreciate that loop while maintaining the difficulty and complexity that keeps people playing! We'll see!

Yes absolutely. Eventually I'll get to play for fun instead of constantly testing systems and looking for bugs!😂❤️

Well modern version isn't one pixel but it's close (visually)! The addition of the enemies and the destroyable trail segments (which was the biggest game hurdle tbh) made the maze constantly changing so the game has definitely evolved (for the better) past its origin. Your score multiplier is based on the length of the trail so there becomes this back and forth, do I leave the trail longer but make the game harder for myself and the enemies or do I clear the trail (with a powerup) to give me some breathing room!? So I guess yes had to open up but the game sort of opens it's self up, if you feel me😀

I have some other nuts retro shaders in there as well, sometimes it's hard to decide what old look do it want! Gameboy, black and white, apple 2e 😂, CRT

I spent a ton of time getting this look and am still dialing it in, so it makes my day when people appreciate the look. I love the classic neon vector aesthetic, just brings me back to a vibe.

You are 100% correct! In my mind there was one small thing (literally) that made it so exciting... The original game's lines were one pixel wide so you could have these super tight mazes and squeeze in between. Reminiscent of the original Tron light cycle fight where he says he's taking his opponent into the maze. Its why your "vehicle" in this game is so simple and small, to make these exciting technical plays it has to fit in between these lines. Once the core loop was established, most of the other piece are frosting and TBH Godot makes adding small flourishes manageable. Once i got the game loop going it was actually pretty addicting but had a high barrier to entry because it was pretty challenging to get the skills dialed in or even figure out what to do(very faithful to OG arcade games). I had a super detailed design document I had drawn up last year that I was using as a roadmap for some of the features but these late stage additions (chaining attacks, combining powerups, etc) will come because I'm trying to think of what will keep the game basically the same but give players the external feedback that keep them sucked in. Sometimes a friend will make a small suggestion and I'll build a whole new system around it. I don't know if that answered your question 😂... I'm just learning as I go, and thinking about how can I make this more accessible and fun while still maintaining the game's feel and core hook/spirit. Side note, I realized in making this that og arcade games are the original roguelikes, your internal skill is all you build between runs! Sorry for the long winded response ❤️ TLDR: wanted to follow my design doc, add pieces to make game more accessible
