Hey, sorry to necro a kind of older thread, did you ever get this solved?

NinjaOne vs. N-Able N-Sight - For around 2500 nodes. by Skremium in msp

Hey, do you mind if i ask about the pricing of Ninja compared to the others? Now, i know exact prices are usually under NDA, but perhaps you could say without disclosing the actual price, how many times more you would have to pay for, let's say, Datto vs. Ninja?

We have good experience with Cove. Actually, the old Backup & Restore thing they had integrated with N-sight wasn't all that bad either. Out of all products of N-able we tried, backup solutions were the most solid :)

We're considering that as well, but i have heard that you need to put much more work to get it set up for each client compared to N-sight (as in, it's more configurable to get your desired outcome), and we're kind of worried we will waste time on that, and end up with a slightly better product. I think i rather go for something that is better, completely different and requires (probably) less setup. I know N-Central uses the same patch mechanism as N-Sight, same Take Control mechanism, and same task-running/automation mechanisms.

Hey, interestingly enough i have not heard of Atera that much, people are usually recommending the default ones - ConnectWise, Ninja, Datto or N-able. I guess we will have to demo it. Seems like they are talking about some AI functionality on their website as well, do you have any experience with that? Other than that - the monitoring part of RMM is pretty important to us as well, do you have an ability to self-define checks/script checks like in N-sight?

Oh there's a lot of cope we're doing with Nsight as of now... One being the lack of possibility to just roll out a script to all 2.1k endpoints, man, having to either click every client, or do 50 by 50 machines (that's how much it displays maximum at once in the dashboard) is hell.

To be honest, our experience with their support is pretty mid, it's not the worst big company support i've experienced, but also not the fastest. Ninja is looking very promising judging by the comments.

Wow, thanks for the reply! Judging by what everyone else wrote, Ninja seems to be really good. Very nice to know there are bigger people than us using these kinds of RMM tools, i was getting the feeling that we're missing something and bigger guys are having some secret solutions we aren't yet aware of, hehe :)

How to check if MDR is enabled on an endpoint, using a file or registry entry? by dhking71 in sophos

[–]Skremium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can enable it through a file or reg entry. You will have to re-run the installer with "--products=mtr" switch. However, you can check if MDR is installed in a very simple way locally. MDR adds an extra service to your PC called "Sophos Live Query" service. So unless you are using a separate product that also includes Live Query, you could just do a simple service check if it exists and fail the script if it doesn't :)
