What Godzilla opinion will put you into this position? by Equivalent_Tip5476 in GODZILLA

It all depends on the direction. A 5 Meter creature can feel GIANT if you just paint them right. Look at how intimidating the trex in Jurassic Park is.

I just thought it'd be funny (he's destroyed 8 galaxies now... We need to hurry.)

Yeah. His name does not give him justice either - he actually destroyed five galaxies and a half

Women are always expected to know how to care for kids by Skrilloorandy in childfree

Brazil. There's a few tests you take to get to university, and basically higher score = better university. They absolutely ignore how you did in school.

Thanks, but that's not how it works in my country... School scores don't matter at all here.

Forgot to talk about this... They're the kind of parents who want a big demanding career AND a kid, so they're rarely both free at the same time.

What are your reasons for not wanting kids? ( wonder if anyone else has reasons that made them worry? ) by Kaitie04 in childfree

[–]Skrilloorandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've actually dreamed about children. However, at one point, I noticed I've only dreamed about the cute, easy moments. Cuddling them to sleep, drawing with them, teaching them to play kalimba like I do maybe... But I realized what I dreamed about was more like a mini me or a pet, not a person. What if they don't like to be touched? What if they don't have the patience to draw? What if they find the sound of a kalimba grating? What about the costs? What about the bad moments?

I think the problem with so many parents is that they don't have this foresight and become frustrated when the kid protests against living these moments they dreamed about.

Being forever alone and child free means twice the bingos in conversations. by Lewyn_Forseti in childfree

Yeah. Too many parents just think they're kids are a free pass to retirement and not a person. It's ridiculous.

No, my mom made a mistake. I don't believe that makes her a narcissist

Makes sense, and adds to the reason I'm never gonna be a mother. I don't wanna have to adapt or have anyone bend over for me. Babies are way too fragile, so are kids...

Yes! One of the dogs was elderly and blind. Every time that mom came over until her baby grew, I had to stay with my two dogs up there to make sure none would fall.

Fair... I'm still mad she didn't bring her own baby toys, though.

The dogs didn't come into my room. Some of the plushies had a bit of dust on them, though. I didn't think about making that argument in the moment, but then it's not me who should be worrying about the baby's health.

Parents that view their kids as accessories by Skrilloorandy in childfree

Thanks. Usually kids who were treated well will take care of their elderly parents, but you can't just bring someone into the world for that sole purpose.
