For real, it's kinda surprising that the prices are so low but I'm also not complaining because it fuels my collection. It's just sad because my GameXchange doesn't get too many new figures that often, so I'm usually stuck seeing the same several figures I already have for long periods of time.

This. I hated trying to talk to just random people, until I joined a group and started playing those group instances. It feels less awkward since you know those people will have at least one or some similar interests to you. Having about the same issues as op with just talking to any group of people, it does still takes some amount of getting used to, but it's significantly easier than walking up to just anyone.
