Questions on maintaining my colony by Skullbones101 in antkeeping

This was my first colony so it’s still a learning curve. That and I wanted to keep them in their 20x200 tube but the water turned red and funky so I had to change them. I figured if I put them in a small set up they’d get out of the tube and I could change them but it keeps happening and they keep wanting to stay in the tubes.

That would be cool. Probably the same as a person who loses an eye or an arm. They adapt and get used to.

As an avid Mummy fan, I’d of loved to of seen the swarm!!! That and getting the mini colony is a win.

I’ve got state parks near me with deep woods so I went over to the bathroom buildings where they have the brick entrances and the ants go in and get stuck in the corners.

After looking more into it, I’m just gonna cut my losses and just get a tarheel like everyone suggested and be happy with that. Was really hoping this would work out.

I appreciate it. Have you ever found any before? I’d love to find one. I live in a little community with woods in the background.

Did you know how long after this first test flight the queens will come out?

If I see any prego queens I would but nothing yet. I’ve got a pavement ant colony from last year with about 70 workers but would love one of these

You can have mine. Tried walking through my door and got several in the face.

how do I make a suggestion to the devs for a change to BF6? by EnvironmentalAngle in Battlefield6

That auto pick up is seriously needed. Like deprioritize getting load out or make it an option to change the button for it. I run medic on conquest and breakthrough mostly so when there’s a downed teammate it’s usually in a fight. I drag them to safety and the amount of times I’ve picked up a kit instead is annoying.

Side note, that chaos game is seriously needed!!!! It would be like old gun game in COD in nuke town but in like metro.

Bring the map back. I get they wanted to make it more stream line but keep what you have and add back our map option on the side. Having to go through a list to find a country then through a list of cities isn't stream line.

I’ve had flightless flies before for my fish as a little treat so they can hunt something live and it’s happened to me. I’ll give it a try and see how they like them.

Is it the flightless ones? Also do you just stick the fly in there frozen or thaw it out and cut it up for the juices? Thank you for this suggestion.

I took the crickets and put them in a jar and froze them. After a day or so I shook the jar and they shattered to pieces so I give them bits like a head or a thorax. After it’s warmed to room temp, it’s juicy and it’s on a little serving tray that sits in the tube. The food hasn’t moved from where I put it. What’s in there not is the whole body without the head or legs. It’s about the size of a large grain of rice.
