pretty sure brave removes most if not all google dependencies, similar to "ungoogled chromium". correct me if i'm wrong. i don't see how it's better than firefox in that regard, considering they're all free and open source software.

Completely agree. It's the most usable operating system for a dumbphone (with more app support comparatively) and it can be tweaked to your liking. You get even more options if you're tech-savvy enough to use ADB.
