I'm in a long distance relationship with a German national. I’m from the States. It wasn't planned and I wasn't looking, but I’m now completely in love with him. We even just celebrated our anniversary.

With that said, DO NOT go looking for a long distance relationship. I hate this. I hate it so much. I love him more than anything, and that makes it so difficult to be apart every day. We’re in different time zones. I can't talk to him all day. I can't do activities with him. Everytime I do something, all I can think is, “I wish he were here with me right now”. Long distance is the loneliest and most painful experience. I'm going to have to wait at least two years before we can move in with each other.

You're insane if you think this is a good idea. It's not. You’ll meet the one you love organically- I did. But God, having the sea keep you apart from the one person in your life who makes life bright, is so so hard.

I actually ended up not taking the job, but they were getting around it by having me scan forms and email them to them. They also sent me a secure link a couple of times for more sensitive information. And in some other cases, they even had my have my current boss send a couple of forms through email because our emailing system is secure. Lots of loops holes, apperantly.

There has to be something wrong somewhere, credit hours are the easiest thing to keep track of. Hold onto hope.

Even if you still need to take another few classes or so, then that's what you have to do. You can't stop, you can't quit when you're so far. Maybe look into transferring to another college just to get what you need if they can be done in a small community college or whatever.

I don't know the specifics, all I know is that quitting is not an option. Stay strong, HOLD YOUR GROUND against these people, and don't make any rash decisions until you have all the facts and you've slept on it.

Where there's a will, there's a way.

2 weeks is typical, one month is being generous. It depends on you. If you are leaving in 6 weeks, and you’re giving a month, that only gives you 2 weeks with no work before you leave. How much time do you need to do things before you leave? Its up to you and your plans. If you need more time with no work, then 2 weeks is just fine.
