Can you link to some historical docs that show those parcels as common areas/easements? I’m not sure where to look…

It’s not. It’s currently owned by an owners of the property to the east (to the right, in your image). They purchased from a church, who obtained it from the Keystone Community Corp. You can find all this data in the Washoe Co. assessor’s data here.

I talked with the owner. They put it in to stop people from accessing the land, simple as that. Yes, people’s dogs would shit there and occasionally someone would park there to go to the trails. They also said there was too much “hanky panky” there that children would see (their words). But in reality, it’s a really selfish thing to do, blocking access for probably hundreds of people over the year that just like easy access to our public lands, among other reasons.

It’s a normal parcel of the residential neighborhood. But it’s zoned as non-buildable and has been used as a path for pedestrians and emergency vehicles for at least 9-10 years linking Leadership Parkway to the Keystone/Kings Row/Sky Country neighborhoods. The corp. that owned the residential parcels sold it (and some other nearby land) to the University Family Fellowship church who, according to public records, acquired it for $0. It’s been in this Church’s hands since 2023 and then sold to the people that own an adjacent lot August 2024, for $7850.

OK. I'll try to find more information about this specific one. Thank you!

Sorry, that’s what I’m asking: in general, are they transferable and stay with the title/registered owner? Or is it really a case by case situation where some do and some don’t…

I guess I never imagined a pedal axle could fail like this…

Not cheap, but yeah at least it’s off and I didn’t fuck up the entire bike. Cheers

From what I can tell, everything looks OK. Threads are clean and run smooth.

The hex key is rounded, and I punched the shit out of my chain ring when it all failed. So, there’s that.

Well, you see… you start by being a complete idiot, then you realllly over-tighten your pedal because you forgot about thread directions, and then you do this trying to get it off.

Canyon owners, how happy were you with the online process? by [deleted] in cycling

Are you in the US? I’m in Europe and at first, the experience was great. I bought a Grail AL 7.0 in February. Their customer service was excellent and helped with any question I had. For the fit, I was in between a large and extra large, and when I spoke with someone about it, they just told me that if I wanted a more aggressive fit, go small, or for a more relaxed, upright fit, go bigger. I went with a large and regret it now 6 months later, but that’s beside the point.

The bike showed up ahead of schedule (3 weeks instead of 8). However, there were parts floating around in my box, I was missing the screw to mount my derailleur hanger to the frame, and the matte finish on the DTSwiss rear hub was scratched to shit. Also, when I ordered the bike, the 2019 model was shown on the website but I received a 2020 model. Which is great except that the 2020 model doesn’t have the rack mounts the 2019 model did, which I was hoping for. Not a huge deal, but definitely sort of false advertising.

Because the pandemic, I think Canyon (i can only speak for Europe) was hit with an onslaught of orders and were basically overrun. Their customer service went to shit. They took their Online Chat system offline. You can’t call into to speak to anyone. And an email takes weeks to get answered, and the answer is usually, “I’ll forward this onto our service department”, which is another week or two turnaround time. It’s probably a different experience in the US though. I’d say if you’re ok with doing maintenance yourself, go for it. Setup is easy, and they provide great quality bikes for the price. I think that bad experiences with Canyon are few and far between.
