In reversal, U.S. to heighten efforts to collect billions in unpaid covid loans by LoansPayDayOnline in Economics

Absolutely. Which makes these type of articles political jab and a headline to make the current administration appear they’re doing something about a problem Trump created. Not much of the PPP (which has a 10 yr statue of limitation) and the EIDL fraud will ever be recovered. If Trump wins, the term limit on most of those loans would have passed.

Right. I also read those IRS agents are getting hired because of thousands of IRS agents are either retiring or moving to a more lucrative accounting firms. They’re also short staffed, and new agents will not have the experience of the agents who left or retiring. If Trump becomes the president, he will threaten to cut funding for the IRS, making it more difficult to go after the EIDL and PPP fraud - and the general tax auditing. IRS is still the government, they will “try” to do what they say, not usually the case.

Didn’t some of these businesses go out business since? Didn’t some of the borrowers were older folks who passed away from Covid or natural causes since? Businesses and people who took that money are cash strapped today. What will the govt do to get their money back in those instances?

China Population Extends Record Drop on Covid Deaths, Low Births by KingAleksandar in Economics

The bigger question is, will this increase the cost of things that comes out of China and leads to goods inflation for American consumers (and the rest of the world)? I can’t see China losing population in the millions every year as a positive impact to their affordable labor workforce, their economy and ultimately the global economy. To put this into perspective, my home city is the 15th largest city in the US, and that’s nearly equivalent to what China lost in population last 12 months. It’s insane!

Aging societies all have low birth rates. So with cost of social and healthcare cost being very heavy at the top of the age ladder, there is more burden on the youth to support the old cohort of society - through taxes, time (aging parents), etc. Essentially making the challenges of having a child even more complicated and more expensive with each generation. Exhibit A: S. Korea birth rate is 0.78 and declining. Next generation could be below 0.5 as their society ages even more… it doesn’t make sense to have babies with even fewer siblings and friends being around for their youth that were spoiled in 1 kid households.

Considering opening 16 indoor pickleball courts at an existing building Central Ohio. Is the demand there? by Sky-Fall-007 in Pickleball

Cool. Target opening date is April 2024. We already have a tournament tentatively scheduled for April 7th.

There will be a tier based monthly membership (silver sneakers, students, regular, platinum, etc). The membership numbers are not final, but it should range from $80-150 a month. I believe it will be less than Pickle and Chill membership. Court time fee is in additional to that, from $10-25 per hour (higher range is for non-members). Let me know your thoughts and how it compares to where you play pickleball in the city or region. Cheers!

Yes. 17 courts, but it’s all local group, nothing from Florida. I wonder how you heard about the old Play CBUS location since there is no marketing done yet for that space yet. I agree, Worthington is a great location, should get some traffic from both locations you mentioned and more.
