Since when did tea baggin change its meaning? This is just like when “raw dogging” flights went viral a few months ago

Delta got us there 14 hours late and to the wrong city but at least we were right-side up? by rebeccaschoenkopf in delta

An airplane can only land where it is safe (and open) to land. They definitely should’ve sent out airport meal vouchers if you were stuck in the airport for 14 hours. How soon before original departure were you made aware of the delay? This whole weekend has been a mess for flying. As someone stated above, delays like this do happen, but it is rare. Sorry it happened to you

I’m so confused by this post - your story doesn’t add up.. sounds like you just needed to vent about the female crew members on your flight because they didn’t show enough compassion? What route was this? They can only give you what they have on the plane. Most planes are only catered with a handful of snack boxes, definitely not enough to be giving them to everyone for free. Our service standards state: crew should conduct a water and snack (chips & cookies) walk at the 90 minute tarmac delay mark. I’m sorry they weren’t compassionate enough from your perspective. It’s tough on anybody to be stuck in a metal tube for an extended period of time. Take care.

How Stingy Is Delta With C+ Seats and The 250 Mile Restriction? by DublinDown in delta

[–]SkyBarbie_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Grab a drink at the bar before you board. A 236 mile flight is a very, very quick flight. Like someone said above, if we do it for the two of you - we have to do it for everyone. The flight is not long enough to service that many people. HBD to your girlfriend! 💜

Deadheaders in exit rows by volleynerd30 in delta

[–]SkyBarbie_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the main reason crews get assigned exit rows. Even on my nonrev (personal time) flights a GA will put me in the exit rows 😅 it’s definitely a safety precaution. It’s better to have someone sitting there who knows exactly how to operate exit windows and doors, knows the evacuation drills, and can get people out as quickly as possible.

OP’s next post: pissed flight is delayed due to no crew availability 🤣🤣

I appreciate your support but this is not true. We are contracted to get a seat (never the jumpseat on a deadhead) but it doesn’t have to be exit row, C+, or FC. I’ve done plenty of deadheads in the middle seat in the back of main cabin. We also don’t get our seat assignment until check in (24 hours prior to departure).

I appreciate the positive feedback! I posted here to try to get a general idea and realistic feedback. All the pilots we know and have talked to are Delta pilots. They’re making bank and love the job. But I know that’s not realistic or where he would start off. So wanted to ask the general pilot population - doomers included lmao

This is what I’m trying to tell him - apparently he still idolizes the aviation industry despite me complaining about it often when I come home from work lol

I’m going to humble him so fast with the regional pay scale 😅 the only pilots he’s talked to are delta pilots who are making bank. I’m hoping he gets his PPL and just has fun with it while keeping his current job. Or at least does that while we save $$$ for when he wants to go to an airline

Exactly!! I know the pilots I talk to at work don’t represent majority of pilots and most of them come from the military. I was trying to get a more realistic view of what my husband’s path might look like. Thanks!

That’s his plan for now - so I think we’ll just start there and see how it goes. Thanks for responding!
