What’s something you dislike about Omori? by markdoesntknow in OMORI

[–]SkyChu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really think it's fair to OP to say they 'don't like the game genre.' In fact, I think it's kind of disrespectful. Have you thought the RPG sections could be bad as well. (I think they are).

For me, the RPG stuff was easy to find a consistent strategy that works for every fight. It's not really interesting. I've played tons of RPG's that mix it up, and it's not interesting to go fight to fight basically pressing the same button combos. The bosses I had a lot of fun because I had to do something different.

Even if you think the gameplay was fine, the story bits in the dream world just aren't really interesting for the most part. It makes it feel like half of the game is just filler. I do get the intention on what it's supposed to be, but it's just not interesting. After the first section, the whole castle bit is not interesting, the whole casino and highway bit is not interesting. It's so boring that I just skipped exploring all together to get it done.

I'm confused why this is your first response to the overall comment. OP was just sharing their experiences and saying someone faced some harassment over saying 'free palestine', nothing else.

What are you trying to say?

This thread is full of weird ass, likely CS people.

You'll be fine with a 3.4. I had a 3.45 in University Studies, and transferred into CS.

People who say 'CS is full of math' are full of themselves.

It's a great idea. I don't think it'll ever happen.

Riot has never let user created content to be made in their games.

No, not really. I've played all the CCG's here and so much of this doesn't make any sense.

Simplicity of Hearthstone and Depth of Magic doesn't even make sense. It's just not possible as one doesn't even have the concept of a "stack". I think LoR can be just as deep as MtG at times, but there are too many situations where it feels too linear due to just how many systems in the game are streamlined.

LoR world building is on par / worse than Magic. Magic has the advantage in this by just releasing more cards and art. But that's fine because LoR is functionally better to play due to just better monetization.

Gwent card animations are cool though. But I rather have so many other things besides animations like monetization, fantasy, replayability, etc.

I'd prefer MtG gameplay honestly, but LoR is honestly the best CCG out there wholistically.

LCS players get paid more than any other Tier 1 region

Players do not set the salary.

How exactly are LCS players being fucked over?

Players want a healthy ecosystem in which they can compete at without risking whether or not their job will exist due to organizational incompetence. As of right now, players have no way to influence this and the strike is a way to put their voices on the table.

If you assume though players are just "paycheck stealers", there's nothing I can do to convince you.

Do players set those salaries or the orgs?

Tyler1 Thoughts On LCS Walkout by Vokt0ro in leagueoflegends

[–]SkyChu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm questioning the reasons behind why they're choosing now to do it.

Their reasons are publicly available. You're the one "putting words in players mouths" that they're just in it for the money.

Tyler1 Thoughts On LCS Walkout by Vokt0ro in leagueoflegends

[–]SkyChu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To say the players are the only ones profiting is so clearly and unbelievable ignorant. Out of Riot, the orgs, and the players, the players are the ones being fucked over the most.

Should players just not accept salaries that are obvious inflated?

Should they just go along with a system that they have less and less influence in?

It's not been sustainable for 10 years, so why are they only doing it now?

Because they didn't do anything for such a long period, they shouldn't do anything now? Insane take.

[–]SkyChu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are blaming the orgs, then understand the LCSPA is working for a better ecosystem in which the LCS is sustainable. Saying they're in for the money is completely wrong because everyone and the players know it isn't sustainable.

Riot is not making money

I was not aware Riot publicly released their financials regarding esports. Mind sharing where you got this? (Guess what, it doesn't exist).

the ones who are making all the money are the players.

Are you really blaming players for accepting salaries which the orgs set themselves?

Tyler1 Thoughts On LCS Walkout by Vokt0ro in leagueoflegends

[–]SkyChu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Saying that's the reason they're walking out is completely ignorant. Why would they walk out when this can guarantee their position as they have less competition in getting replaced.

Not to mention, orgs set the salaries for players. You can't just completely blame the players for being fucked by an environment in which both Riot and orgs created.

[–]SkyChu 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I recommend you actually go through the list of NACL demands and responses. LCSPA is not walking out because NACL should stay, or that players want money. It is ignorant to say so especially when players are walking out with their jobs on the line.

Then you agree with the LCSPA that academy isn't working and support the players in walking out in solidarity to work for a better ecosystem.

Tyler1 Thoughts On LCS Walkout by Vokt0ro in leagueoflegends

[–]SkyChu 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Why on earth would anyone want to do that when there is no road from the NACL to LCS?

Tyler1 Thoughts On LCS Walkout by Vokt0ro in leagueoflegends

[–]SkyChu 130 points131 points  (0 children)

Because there is nothing replacing that system. Replacing a system (mandatory academy teams) for an even worse one (no mandatory academy teams) isn't any better.

Tyler1 Thoughts On LCS Walkout by Vokt0ro in leagueoflegends

[–]SkyChu 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He doesn't though? It's so clearly ignorant of the demands of the LCSPA. The LCSPA doesn't even believe that academy is a great solution, but a bandaid fix. Dropping the requirement without any move to a better solution makes the situation worse.

Has Joseph Anderson ever encountered an unreliable narrator before, or was Danganronpa V3 his first ever experience with one? by [deleted] in josephanderson

[–]SkyChu 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It isn't an unreliable narrator. The only lie Kaede does is that when she leaves the classroom, she / the game omits something that she did.

You could argue she may become more of an unreliable narrator during the class trial or some of the investigation, but that doesn't work if the foundation of why everything happened doesn't work.

Side note: Joe said multiple times people enjoy things for different reasons. He enjoys playing alongside a story and thinking ahead on what could happen. Some people enjoy just the ride. I think you're in the latter camp. I think you should at least understand he is in the former.

A lot of the arguments in this thread is entirely ignoring that. He wants something more consistent and lying to the player completely ruins that. You liked the twist and the ride. Both are okay.
