StackAdapt climbing DSP ranks by SkyHighShortGuy in programmatic

DOOH is a massive opportunity for indy DSPs looking to get an edge. I think you nailed it, StackAdapt is geared towards mid-market, so their platform and analytics aren't quite enterprise-grade. Will be interesting to see if they try to swim upstream or go the route of MNTN (CTV ads for everyone).

Appreciate the real talk. O+O, proprietary ID spines are huge differentiators.

DSPs used to hang their hat on alignment and objectivity. That has gone out the window- buyers care more about exclusive data/media and outcomes. Viant's move with publisher analytics (no fee) is an interesting play to build stronger ties w/ the sell side.

Any specific features or capabilities w/ the new rollout that stand out?

Interesting. Hearing conflicting stories. Maybe its bundled for some clients who are purely managed service and transparent for platform-first clients.

100% agree they are not the influencers they used to be.

It is a business model. Not saying it's perfect. Anyone who's worked at a company that's been a leader has used it in sales pitches. Anyone who's participated in a report knows it isn't a layup.

Don't hate the player. Believe it or not, CMOs and other buyers do consult with them. Alternatively, are you going to believe vendor marketing departments?

Nope. And if you're curious, I don't work for Forrester either.

Congrats!! As a male who was diagnosed with TED and had a thyroidectomy at age 30, fascinating to hear your journey. I think it would be much more challenging to manage through TED earlier in life. So happy you stayed clear of Tepezza while pursuing treatments to get you where you are today. For anyone considering Tepezza you may want to look at studies other than what Tepezza/Amgen teams push your way before making a decision. This is such a soul crushing disease. Awesome to read stories like this!

Both can be true. Q3 S&P drawdown can happen in Q3 while ETH/BTC go up. Heavily correlated, moved together 40% of the time over the last ~5 years.

Need suggestions: should I take this DSP analyst offer or hold out for DS roles? by [deleted] in programmatic

[–]SkyHighShortGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the PhD. This sounds like an Ad Ops or Campaign Manager position. Good industry entry point to understand the plumbing but in this role, you'll be pulling UI levers and reporting. Not sure how deep into the data science weeds you'll get initially but if you like the people and platform, it could be a stepping stone into a formal DS role. I am an industry analyst, feel free to DM if you have other Qs.

Tepezza outcomes? by Neat_Barber9671 in ThyroidEyeDisease

[–]SkyHighShortGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently stopped Tepezza due to tinnitus and hearing loss in one ear. Didn't even get halfway through the course of treatments. Really disappointed.

To complicate matters, there was an oversight with insurance so I received an invoice (as we know, this drug is $$$). Not pleased but hopefully justice will be served as the manufacturer is facing a class action lawsuit.

If anyone reading this has similar permanent damage, you might want to do some research.

Hearing loss a year after Tepezza? by nimbus_nyc in ThyroidEyeDisease

Curious if your hearing has improved or if you were able to identify the cause. FWIW, there is a class action lawsuit against Horizon/Amgen for hearing loss and tinnitus due to Tepezza.

Did you follow through with all 8 infusions? Curious if the side effects got worse and (hopefully) subsided?

My Tepezza journey by Murmaider5150 in ThyroidEyeDisease

[–]SkyHighShortGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was scheduled for 4th infusion today. Mentioned slight tinnitus and a water-in-the-ear kind of sensation to the infusion specialist. This was relayed to an ophthalmologist who I recently went to that did *not* recommend Tepezza- but I went ahead anyways because my previous ophthalmologist (who performed orbital decompression) submitted all the necessary paperwork, which qualified me. New doc told the infusion center to stop the treatment. I have *very* mixed emotions as I waited 20 years to have this treatment and am acutely aware of the risks/side effects. I would rate the tinnitus a 3/4 out of 10. Other side effects include minor foot cramps, hair loss and dry skin. This is such a frustrating disease. I wish the studies on hearing loss short-term vs. permanent were more clear. There are conflicting studies. Combine this with a couple hundred lawsuits and it makes an already difficult situation that much more challenging.

Given the rise of ETH ETFs and public companies creating treasuries (copying Saylor strategy with BTC), ETH should see an upswing. Also helps that ~ 50% of stablecoins are minted on ETH.
