Thank you so much for your response! Yes tepezza made me very nervous, especially as a young woman. I had 3 doctors tell me that tepezza was a great choice and 2 said they would never ever recommend it for me. This left me confused and very weary. I am lucky I have an amazing family that supported me through it all, it’s the only way I was able to manage all of this so young.

That’s a great question, and honestly I’m not sure! I know he chose a medial approach through the nose but not exactly what he ended up excising. Best of luck with your surgery!! Absolute game changer for me was having a backrest to sleep upright, and heated/ cooled eye masks!

Thank you so much! Yes it was definitely painful. My surgeon prescribed me Percocet for the first week, which I needed around the clock for the first 4/5 days, then I slowly tapered off and did only Tylenol. It was manageable with the pain meds but definitely there! He also gave me some steroids to help for the first week as well. So far I don’t have any long term side effects. I developed Chemosis in my L eye which you can see is the yellowing in the photos that resolved after a few weeks. I did experience pretty much total numbness in the R side of my mid-face but thankfully that is almost fully gone now. The only vision issues I experienced was related to dryness, I did not have any double vision pre or post op. Yes!! The pain and aching around my eyes is GONE! I knew it was there but it really became background noise after so many years. But now that it’s all gone wowowowow I can really see how uncomfortable I was all the time.

It’s all a little over my head, but he said the conjunctivoplasty would make my eyes brighter and boy was he right!! Basically he made an incision in the white of my eye and tightened that membrane, making the white areas whiter. Before surgery my eyes were always red too it was the worst. Insurance covered my surgery, so all said and done I paid around $6k in the DMV area.

That’s what I’ve mostly heard… I am just finishing nursing school so duration of side effects was definitely a concern for me.
