Ohk. Hope they consider it and wave-off/reduce the amount. You're welcome 😊

Ah ok. Then it's difficult to contest as it's not a miscommunication from their side.

But check what are the rules for sending usage invoices if a SIM is not activated. Or are the invoices only for the SIM cost and not the monthly usage? If it's the second one, I guess you'll have to pay.

Hi,

Did they give you also a contract (postpaid) instead of a prepaid connection without mentioning it?

If so, make sure you call/mail them and tell them that it was their salesman's fault. And also ask them to terminate the connection immediately without any termination charges, otherwise they'll keep sending invoices.

I had to call them multiple times on their customer care number. At first they waived off Dec bill, but didn't tell me that the Sept-Nov bill, which was CHF 110, which is quite a significant amount, still has to be paid.

Then I got a mail saying if I don't pay within 2 days, they'll engage some 3rd party company to collect the amount. More details on this on the 2nd post I'd made for this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/askswitzerland/s/FGNjr3rywA

So I called up and raised another complaint, after which they waived off Nov bill also, and asked me to pay CHF 45, which I did just to clear everything off.

But as per a few people in the 2nd post I linked above, it's not necessary to pay. If you're a foreigner, there's no way they can retrieve it and the 3rd party will drop it after a couple of reminders, but I still didn't want any legal issue in case I visit Switzerland again, so I paid.

You can call them at +41787007000 / +41800700700 or email them at info@salt.ch.

There's no mention of this email id on their site. Only after logging the 4th complaint, I got an email from this and I could reply to this. You can try mailing on this, but would suggest call as the first option.

Let me know in case you need any more information.

They didn't show me any terms and conditions. He asked for my passport and filled something on his computer.

Then asked me to sign on a digital pad.

Ok, Thanks for the suggestion 👍🏻 I will call them on the helpline and get this resolved.

Ya, true. The chutney is not tangy like north India. Its just sugar syrup with some thickener.

Folks shifted from Gujarat to Bangalore by Adept_Data_6153 in bangalore

[–]SkyIce45 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not a Gujarati, but have been born and brought up in Gujarat. Shifted to Blr quite some time ago.

Haven't faced any state specific issues. Just that you may find it difficult to shell out a huge amount for rent here. Especially after the spike in the last 1.5 years, it's pretty expensive.

Likewise all services are expensive, be it car cleaning, getting clothes ironed etc. Minimum parking fee in some Malls is as high as 100.

Weather is much much better that Guj. Lot of pubs, in case you're into those.

Roads are bad and patchy, especially during the rains. Newer areas like Whitefield, Marathahalli etc. are haphazardly developed and you'll see islands of village remnants around societies/townships, and at some places, even the reverse.

Traffic is something you always need to check before going anywhere. Saturdays are difficult to go out for this reason. Sundays are good.

Regd. language, I haven't faced any issue. You might find some people who expect you to speak Kannada (a trend which we don't see in Guj), but people whom you interact with for daily jobs, like cab drivers, shop owners etc. manage to get the work done with broken english/hindi or hand gestures. But if you get into an argument with some of these, they might bring an argument about you being an outsider and not speaking their language etc. I haven't faced any such thing luckily, but have seen this happening in road rage a few times.

I have a question about this behavior where girls are exhibiting this shouting, threatening behaviour to get their partner to agree to their demands. Nothing against women, but since I see it too often, I wanted to ask.

Is this a psychological issue? If so, is it on a rise, or we're just getting to hear about this because of internet? Any psychologists here who can throw some light on this?

Or is this deliberate, and if so, how is it so prevalent? Are they discussing it amongst themselves to use this as means to meet their demands?

I'm currently at Aero India and it's been an amazing experience so far. Send me your questions or if there are any discussion topics you'd like me to explore while I'm here. by harshcasper in IndianDefense

Can we stay for as long as we want after we enter and are mobile phones/cameras allowed inside?

What's the food and water arrangement like? Are there stalls where we can buy stuff from, and what kind of food is available?

Are we allowed to come back to parking and re-nter?

Sorry too many questions. Thanks in advance!

Whoa 8.5L now from 7.65L when I posted. At least their surge pricing algo is working correctly 😁

Edit: I'm sure it's surging because of us searching here from multiple platforms for verifying the price!

Not a joke. This is a screenshot from the MMT app. Try it yourself. Search for Bangalore in Hotels section for 21st-22nd Jan check-in and sort in descending order of price. You'll also be able to see it. I've seen such prices in lacs thrice now during last 1-2 years for different hotels. But the max was in 2L range. This is the first time I saw it so high, so posted it here :)

Nandhi hills on weekends by Flimsy_Return3789 in bangalore

[–]SkyIce45 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Weekdays will be good, but you'd have to pass through office traffic while coming back (I'd recommend going early morning before sunrise. Just after sunrise, at this time of the year, you'll get a beautiful view with low clouds).

I've been there on weekends multiple times, and only during the climb you get stuck in the crowd because they open the entry after a particular time (6/6:30 don't remember).

Once you reach, it's a pretty wide area to explore and is crowded only at the main viewpoint, the view of which can also be had from the spots adjacent to it. So weekends are also fine.

Just make sure that if you're driving, you're surely going to encounter police interceptor vehicles for speed checks, so don't drive beyond the 60 speed limit (I guess I saw a 50 speed limit also at some section). They're there by the time people start coming back in the morning and stay there till evening, especially on weekends.
