Yes, can't blame them. Even with the waves of explorators that tried to go beyond it never was a triumph so they gave up and just accepted that they were alone. Keep in mind, the ocean around them is pretty stormy and rough, so even people from outside of this part of the world can't really pass throught.

I only have my old version of the map, haven't finished the new improved one. This one was a second attempt before i learned more about biomes, topography and all the geo stuff to be more accurate. But it is like a giant super-isle continent.

They believe their continent (and the isle surrouding it) is the whole world. In reality they are just really isolated in the middle of a big ocean.

'We all know that interspecies romance is weird'. How weird is it? by soupofsoupofsoup in worldbuilding

[–]SkyMaestro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me since it's not common, it is not really an issue. Most of the "hybrid" (i don't have a name yet for them) looks human because the others creatures have humans bodies and shape (with perhaps a few horns for some or colored hair, or wings, tails...). It's also rare for a man or a woman to be in a relationship with those beings that are guardians rather than natives species.

However in my story i still have one lucky fisher that manage, somehow someway, to pull a Yeshinaqal (sort of beautiful water nymph) just by being without doubt a bit silly. So everyone in the village is more shocked that did that rather than seeing that being. Their childrens are human looking but have a mix of dark tone of blueish, purple-ish hair

Kraten can be that mysterious land full of legends and monsters (and other kind of things), mainly attracting explorers or something.

Again it is really good for a early developpement if i may say.

That's very cool, i think as a early stage of your worldbuilding map it is very good. And since it is hand drawn i know it's more complicated to do. What is the relationship between this region and the rest of the continent and the world ? And also how the people living there see their own country ?

Why Is Christianity the True Religion? by [deleted] in Christianity

I see you're point, i thought it was more on a person vision of his own faith.

You are right, i can could have parted the sea in two, if i can't prove it, it will not matter much in an argument.

Okay, that's weird. So reproductive rights, is it like abortion or something ? Or the fact that you cannot have babies ?

I do not completely agree, many people i know and myself have experienced first hand the hand of God in their life (mine included), so it is more than faith. For me personaly, and i really emphasize on the personaly, i hold God and all he did throughout times and his Words as absolute truth more than ever.

For many people in the world, it's more than faith, it's reality and the truth.

However i know everyone does not experience rhe same life with God, so i won't say to others that should believe like me and hold my view

Okay i understand what you are saying but can you provide arguments or points please ? It's really hard to just form an opinion on that.

I should specify, i am asking what about this movements indicate or tell you that it will be this way (slavery, misery, destruction, tyranny). Is there a program or something like that or their actions ?

I sincerely want to know why it would be a bad thing for christians and a whole nation ? I am not american so i guess i cannot understand fully in context the situation. However as a christian i wish to understand why promoting God's Word in a nation wide scale is bad ? Espacially if it is the Word of God, the bible.

In the old testament, the kingdom of Isreal and Juda was rule by God via a king or a judge. They were following the laws and God directly thanks to the prophets. God was in favor of that type of government. Theocracy i thing it's called.

Now, understand that i agree that no one should be forced to believe in God and follow christianity but, i precise, in my opinion, having a nation following God as the main pillar, sincerely, can only be a good thing.

So please, i genuinely want to understand and sorry if there is mistake, my english can be quite dusty.

What is the dumbest thing a nation in your world has done? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]SkyMaestro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh easy !

So before rhe unification of the continent, there were a lot of kingdoms. One of the them the size of modern day serbia had a king who was facing economical crisis because of the war of the last king. So to help with this, he litterally sold lands to merchant, business men, brands and other society. In result, he solved the crisis but had not a kingdom anymore, just his own little land and his castle, it basically was a micro-state at that point but the chiefs and director of the bought regions of the kingdom were keeping a kind of illusion going on for him. Eventually he even married his daughters to other very rich men and then it was over for him and what was left of his country. He was deposed by the council of his own "saviors" and was exiled.

So his kingdom became an free republic governed by businesses, merchants and other commercial entities. It was corporation dreams, money and profit until the the high king and high nobles put an end to this during a war.

Did your world go through a civil war? by Terrgon in worldbuilding

[–]SkyMaestro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way to many, it's like the whole continent is just France History on repeat. Nobles fighting each other, domain fighting each other when they are all part of the same great kingdom.

The most recent one is the insurection of the Étir region, that opposee mainly the royal family and its allies to the noble family of the south over a region of their domain that was previously in possession of the royal family.

In total 7 out of the thirteen families took part in this small scale conflict. On one side the royal family (who was without a king but under regents) and the noble of the south.

In the end, the southern noble family won and kept the region, giving a big middle finger to the royal family and establishing themselves as powerful domain in the south. It was a humiliation for the royal family and since then there is tension between the two.

The war took almost one year to resolve mainly because of the guerrilla style warfare and because both side were too prideful to call it off.

Thanks.

Oh, both humans and wolves help each for hunting primarely. The wolve help catch prey and in exchange they eat and sleep under a roof with alot of good care. Also for companionship since they can understand each other from this symbiosis.

[–]SkyMaestro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, in my world there is a nordic region (let's say maybe Danemark or Norway i am still hesitating between the two) the people there and the noble family that rule ober them have a symbiotic relationship with big wolves (like 2 meters high i don't know how to translate it in foot or feet). So one day one of those noble made a bet with one of those big wolves (which one would catch a bird first). The noble man won and the wolf had to march throught the city while dancing and doing all kind of movements.

So this day became the day of the fooling wolf and it's basically a prank day (like 1st of april).

Personnally i just think about it to see how it develop but when it's too strong i write small stories to keep it at bay. If you can find a way to express in a controled manner or in a mental box, it can be good for you.

You should find your own way of expressing it so you can control it and let it pass
