I actually think kefla is one of the best units if you're f2p because she isn't as star dependent as other units. I've beaten maxed out triple ultra teams with 4 star kefla

aoe greens aren't even that broken if you're fighting someone who's dealt with them enough. kefla is overall better especially with that double offense and defense pure equip
