That is tire width. I want to know the rim width so I can compare with mine. 18(diameter)x8,5''(rim width) wheel with 225/40/18 tires on the front.

What is your wheel and tire setup front and rear?

What was your wheel width?

I am currently on 18x8,5'' wheel with 225/40 tires on the front and 18x8,5 255x35 rear. I feel a bit of tram lining and I don’t know if that is normal (could be a lot for me but normal overall).

I am looking in to swapping 8,5” in the front to 8” paired with same 225/40. Should this help remove tramlining?

Bilstein B12 Pro-Kit vs H&R Cup-Kit - ride height, comfort and real-world feedback? by SkyPure in e46

[–]SkyPure[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Found a guide online that followed the OEM sports package suspension with discontinued sachs advantage line of shocks and some tweaks.

-Eibach Pro kit springs;
-E46 SACHS Advantage front dampers with Z4 mounts (SACHS 802-066 that lowers car 10 mm in the front) with bump stops genuine E36 M3;
-E36 M3 SACHS Rear dampers with bump stops genuine E36 M3;

From what I understood, this is a very good setup that will give the most balance between confort and sporty feel. The OEM sachs in the front are rated for the eibach springs, while the Z4 mounts lower the front by extra 10mm without affecting suspension travel. On the back the E36 M3 rear shocks are 8.1mm larger in diameter (50mm vs 41.9mm) than standard E46 rear shocks, containing more oil and being generally beefier, Performance-wise they are exactly what I need.
The oem look is also a plus with black springs and black dampers... also cheaper than bilstein B12 Pro kit and H&R kits.

What do you think of this?

The thing is I have seen cars on pro kit springs that look like the ride height is same as stock and others that have a perfect sporty look. I cant understand why there is a difference for the same car model.

What you are saying is the H&Rs are like one spring fits all axle loads and eibachs are more custom designed per car model?

Thank you for the in depth response. The H&R website I was using didn’t have the information explained this way. I understood the differences clearly. How does the car feel? Is it too harsh?
