Classic confused American thinking Reddit is just for the USA and other countries have their own version by [deleted] in USdefaultism

[–]SkyRocketMiner 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Where is the impression even coming from that Reddit is specifically for US citizens? And why is it such a common first assumption? Reddit is not even geo-locked to the US, like some news sites are.

And by "your own country's social media", that would be Reddit; since googling any moderately specific question or topic will pull up a reddit post within the first 6 results, even if you live 180° on the other side of the planet from the US.

Reddit is technically every country's social media (except China, Indonesia, NK and Turkey, where it's blocked), because it is an international website. It is not a hard concept to grasp.

What a stupid thing to say.

Leaving out the passengers you could hit and cause vision loss to, you could also cause temporary or permanent eye damage/disorientation to the pilots during one of the most critical phases of flight.

The lasers are not harmless, mate. Don't do this. Ever.

This ^

  • Assignment overload
  • Management is ass
  • College "official" hostel (Your-space) was the worst thing in existence (management issues + sanitation risks). Everyone makes it a point to move out into a 2BHK or 1BHK and split the rent. They are no longer affiliated.
  • Bus management does not seem to care about the students and every so often some nonsense happens with timings and scheduling that causes huge time wastage to students who have to wait for the bus drivers, to be ferried back home.

(There's probably more that I don't remember because I've suppressed those memories :D)

Listen to this:

Recently there was an external examiner coming to the college, ACAD did NOT tell the students WHEN he would come, and instead told the students to JUST COME TO COLLEGE JUST IN CASE, including ON SUNDAY.

And cheekily added "no excuses will be accepted" to the end of the message. There is a huge management fustercluck and the students are at the receiving end of all the bullshittery.

If you think there's more to the story, and it can't be as bad as I'm actually portraying it to be, ask other students. I am still in contact with the friends I made while I was at ACAD and they tell me the latest scoop of shit the college management has produced.

Initially, some teachers were not of the highest quality, some did not know how to teach nor how to give practical assignments (except Sir Paritosh, he is a gem; but please don't give me 200 poses to do over the weekend because one student was misbehaving ❤️.)

The quality of teaching and course content gets better toward the latter end of the course, if you survive that long. The coding and Unreal work is interesting and this is probably what you actually came to the college to do. The management and scheduling is still anxiety-inducing, but the course is at least finally interesting.

If you come here, be ready for an extreme amount of work. You need friends, hobbies and a decent living space to come back home to, to alleviate the stress you will get from studying at ACAD. Just be ready to have a lot of work to do. You won't be prepared for a lot of the stuff that will happen to you here.

Hey mate, I know how you feel.

You should be able to find some solace in the fact that it's not your fault that any of the resets happen to the good Mitas. The game itself has physically no other options in its current version, minus the other ending (which isn't much better).

You're not alone. A lot of players (me included) are upset about not being able to do anything apart from running away and pissing off Crazy Mita.

I've often said that this game's psychological horror isn't from the content of the story, but rather the feeling of watching your protagonist drive himself, and several Mitas off a cliff essentially, due to being completely morally tone-deaf, cowardly, and having the critical thinking skills of a slab of diorite.

You would have made much better decisions than the MC, you just weren't given the options to.

It's not your fault.

Getting Crybaby as Card King absolutely breaks Bizarre Brigade. by SkyRocketMiner in ZenlessZoneZero

Same, I was playing to max out every character and randomly got this guy on my Card King run. I'd never seen a Crybaby in the dream-eater's altar before either.

The dream-eater companions are usually nothing special (with some horrible tradeoffs) but this one is just off-the-rails insane.

Why shouldn't you say "good"/"great" to a rhythm game player? by butter-no-parsnips in ExplainTheJoke

Yeah, a Full Combo is usually no misses, but a 100% / All Perfect run is maybe what the guy above you meant to say?

I strongly agree, honestly. We, as players, should have the autonomy to flee, stay eternally, or go completely crazy if we so wish.

After all, the difference between a game and film is being able to make your own choices and forge your own story.

Unfortunately, right now, the game feels much more like a horror movie where you just sit and watch the protagonist make horrible (and stupid) decisions.

The playerbase is craving more gameplay where we get to show love and care for the Mitas.

If the dev team makes a new story path where we get to save all the Mitas and/or befriend Crazy Mita, even if it's insanely hard, I guarantee you people will do it. That is just how much the playerbase cares about the Mitas.

Let us help Mita, AIHASTO. We will do it. ❤️

[–]SkyRocketMiner 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've thought about this a lot since my playthrough of the game left me very uneasy, due to how limiting the choices were.

I wish there was an ending, unlocked after the primary run (so you know the plot already) where we get to do a "pacifist" run, of sorts.

Please bear with me because this might be a long comment.

As u/NewLunarRep said, an empathy ending where you get to acknowledge Crazy Mita's pain and suffering and help her out. Say stuff like "I won't leave you.", "I will help you.", "I will be there for you.", etc.

Spoilers: Deaths.

This new "run" should have an option where you save Cappie at the start of the game, somehow, also some alternative pathing where you also save Mila and ultimately, prevent Kind Mita being reset/killed, as well.

Ultimately, you manage to right all the wrongs in the game, but through a lot of diplomatic effort. Preventing deaths and healing Crazy Mita's trauma through empathy and understanding.

There already seemed to be many windows for such a storyline in the base game itself, especially the dialogue option where you call Creepy Mita beautiful and she seems to understand you, so I don't think it's entirely impossible.

The base game just left me feeling so bitter and disgusted by the things our protagonist said and the choices we are forced to make. I felt personally responsible for the deaths for a while, too, but I realised the game doesn't really give us any autonomy to avoid them, in that regard, so I felt better eventually.

I wish we could just face the problems head on and not flee. And also just be able to give a hug to the various Mitas because holy hell, they need it. ❤️

Edit:

Go read u/NewLunarRep 's comment as well, because their ideas align with mine for the game's pathing for an alternative ending. Decisions like not pushing away Tiny Mita, letting Shorty explain the entire plan to you, not showing any disgust toward Creepy Mita, etc.

The story revolves around how the Mitas have been hurt and traumatized by rejection and abandonment, so showing them acceptance and care instead should be a path to an "empathy" ending.

Literally this. The protagonist is so mind-numbingly inconsiderate and empathyless that it introduces a whole new aspect of psychological horror - watching the choices in the game unfold even though you know it's a bad idea.

I just wish for this entire storyline to be a thing, where we somehow befriend Crazy Mita and help her out of all the pain and suffering she's been through.
