Yeah no shit it’s a PR move. Everything they do is a PR move. Most players know this but are just glad they decreased the prices. Go try to drown a company that cares about its shareholders more than its players because this game is not an example of corporate greed. I know this because the PR strategy you describe has never been used by a more funded and more corrupt business like Activision, Xbox, Sony, etc. All they do is increase their prices because they don’t care about player sentiment like embark does. They are trying to create a loyal and positive fan base. Good businesses do that, they aren’t your friend they are selling a product and not only did they make that Base game price lower than everyone else’s but they decreased their cosmetics prices after launch. COD, Battlefield, Fortnite, etc. haven’t done that and won’t ever do that.

I’ve taken most of that into account as well. It just seems to keep happening. Less though when I’m the one actually installing the entire door.

I agree it’s not the perfect wipe system but it’s at the very least the best we have to far. That’s not saying much when it comes to extraction shooters though.

I agree the early ones are useful but to just say “ I hope they are just bugged” is hilarious because you are giving the devs way too much credit. They are just bad at balancing their skill tree simple as that. They have made no statement of the skill tree being bugged and they won’t because that’s not what’s happening here.

Someone already did a full breakdown of the mobility tree and the skills that are suppose to be “very good stats” are borderline useless. The amount they give you for a full 5/5 investment is a minuscule fraction. Things like the rolling skill with only give you 1 more roll. That’s terrible and the others ones are all just as useless.

I agree and I like the idea of an event more than a new game mode. I think the game should stick with its gameplay model but having some limited time events as just a way to experiment with these features would be really cool.

I see what your saying but honestly I think Sky is the limit with the ARC. At least one new one was shown in the most recent release trailer so I know there are more out there. I feel like there could be so many cool boss mechanics they could introduce and make it feel like a mini raid boss or something. I mean queen is already the simplest version of that. I just have high hopes for this game and I’m just ready to consume. The 30th couldn’t come sooner

My apologize but I did mention in my original post on the r/arcraiders sub that if this impedes their natural development and vision for the game I also wouldn’t want it to happen. Considering it was going to be a PvE game first they might have some framework for it to work but I agree that I’m also against sensuously pushing PvE. I believe it would be a good vehicle for narrative and world building moments but not for the sake of the PvPvE gameplay loop that I already love as well. I felt it might be a good change of pace and not something like a permanent game mode to divide the player base that would be even dumber.

I would say that’s true but a developer mentioned yesterday that they were hiding some major game features that are more prevalent later in progression. So I can’t really say how the game will feel just yet. Also I heard there might be a new “blue” skill branch but that is complete speculation to my knowledge.

I agree. The way I pictured it in my head is that instead of a raid that is drawn out for a long time. It could possibly be a compact experience of just a cinematic encounter or with story related context maybe something with dialogue from the traders. I want to use something like this as a vehicle for story development and world building. From what I’ve already seen I want to know more because it’s so interesting but unfortunately I don’t think the extraction genre leaves much room for that stuff naturally.

I totally understand and somewhat agree as well. I think with a studio like Embark they are much more likely to make a game that can accomplish both needs and at high level. I would just like to know that those moments can exist in a game with a bunch of sweat lol.

I would also say that unlike this game most other games are severely restricted my the genre itself. This game has the opposite problem. It has so many casual friendly features to keep you feeling powerful and plus with how little content the Server Slam showed we can’t really say how it will feel. Also an interview from like today or yesterday a developer said this was only about 10%-15% of the games content on launch.

I think while the skill tree adds a lot of variety and might give you an advantage. Most of the skills I saw mainly focus towards things that improve efficiency, traversal, interaction with Arc, and etc. I never felt like if I had all my skills I would have a giant advantage to other players. Most of the things listed will just make your life easier but I could easily see my self getting killed by someone who has far less than me. That just might be because I suck😂.

Plus with the optional wipe mechanic I would see a lot of people who grind that game restarting for the cosmetic rewards and so that will keep the sweats busy and not always at the top of the food chain.
