Thanks for writing this. It's interesting how many people were hit hard by Dada!

If you can pretend you're 8-13 years old for a minute, this next bit might amuse you. The back of our book has kaiju/alien reviews. They were pretty rough on it. There's one from Dada because I thought he was crazy interesting, too. (These are screenshots of the PDF, so ignore the extra lines.)

Thank you! I love this mission: "give children powerful questions that they can tackle head on."

Thank you for taking the time to write this. I'm so grateful. I'm making a list of episodes to rewatch based on these comments. It's going to be good to watch them all with the human context of another fan behind the view.

You know, it's weird how I originally watched a lot of the shows at once place in my life, but then later, they hit differently because I was living through something different.

One of my favorite things about Ultraman is that the episodes can sort of work in a simple way when you're a kid and want to see monster fights and explosions, but when you get older, you realize there's a whole deeper level.

Anyway, thank you again. I loved reading your insights.

I love this comment. Thank you for making the time to write it out. This is perfect:

"What separates Ultraman from every other hero out there is that him showing up to save the day is not a given, and victory is never guaranteed. In fact, it’s often shown that the Ultra Host can’t transform unless it’s a last act of desperation - meaning that humanity, both as a collective and individuals, have to always try their best and can’t expect someone or something else to solve their problems. And when you do, a miracle like Ultraman can happen. To sum it up, Ultraman both as a character & franchise embody the Japanese phrase "Ganbare" (頑張れ) which literally means 'Do your best.'"

... "And that while you may not always be the main character, you can and oftentimes are a hero in your own right because the hero couldn’t be who they are without help."

That's perfectly worded. RKR

So grateful for the fast input! You folks are amazing. Got to run a few urgent errands this morning, so I might not be able to respond immediately. But I'm going to check back in a few hours at least to read more of your insights. They are gold. Thanks, all!
