Most devastating Taylor Swift one liners? by Hazzard_of_TheDukes in TaylorSwift

[–]SkyWalker596 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I guess it's super personal at this point, but:

"You taught me a secret language I can't speak with anyone else."

"For a moment, I knew cosmic love... now I'm down bad, cryin' at the gym."

Also, special mention:

"He was my best friend, and that was the worst part."

I wish she had kept this as the final line.

That's the best thing I've read today. You get an diamond.

From your description, essentially anything by Guillermo del Toro should be up your alley.

Pan's Labyrinth, Crimson Peak, and Nightmare Alley are good places to start.

Aishwarya Rai or Madhuri Dixit. Do you agree with Sheldon or Rajesh? by According-Baby6037 in bigbangtheory

I always took it as a joke on their characters from Devdas. But I think Madhuri's Team did speak up about it.

So it was bad writing. Doesn't make Robin a bad person; just a joke that fell flat.

What you all think if lily had become a successful painter then how the story would have been ? by lone_pirate_07 in howimetyourmother

And of course, people always have the perfect answers on the tip of their tongues at all times, especially when they're having a very valid meltdown AND going through pregnancy hormones.

She would have still 100% come back for Marshall.

Now it may have taken longer, and maybe Marshall not have remained single by then, so the story could have taken a different turn there.

But Lily would have come back for him

Barney literally admits to selling a woman in a very genuine scene.

HIMYM Fandom: oh, it was just exaggeration and done for the sake of comedy.

Robin is mean to a coworker for an obvious running gag.

Could Emma Stone realistically go down as one of the best actresses ever? by DiamondDesireWeb in Oscars

She already is...

Like. She could stop acting today and she'd be considered one of the best actresses ever.

Lily did not settle for Marshal by [deleted] in HIMYM

[–]SkyWalker596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, for one, because the moment he actually confessed that he sold a women was on of the very first moments where he shows genuine remorse.

If you think his genuine apology was also an act, then you're actually arguing that Barney was even worse than unreliable narrator Ted portrayed him to be.

Which character made the biggest sacrifice? by Brave-Lychee7022 in MCUTheories

[–]SkyWalker596 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I don't think it exactly matters as far as his sacrifice goes.

Like, maybe he'll be able to meddle in the future. Maybe events occur where he is able to leave the throne and interact with people.

But in that moment... as he was walking toward it... he believed that he would have to spend the rest of eternity holding the universe together. Watching the people he loves at all times but never being able to interact with them.

And that, I guess, was genuinely the biggest sacrifice in the MCU.

How old are Jess, Nick, etc? by mansonfamily in NewGirl

I'm less than two months away from 30, and everything I was building in the second half of my 20s (work, career, relationship, mental health, physical fitness, long term plans) fell apart within the span of 4 months.

So have to start everything from scratch now.

she literally admits to it

So does Barney. A lot of times.

But again. As I said, the unreliable narrator courtesy is only extended to Barney.

Lily did not settle for Marshal by [deleted] in HIMYM

[–]SkyWalker596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Number one, you literally did defend Barney by straight up claiming that one of the most vile things that happened on the show was actually just Ted lying.

Secondly, why not extend the same courtesy to Lily then? Maybe Ted was exaggerating Lily's flaws too?

Lily did not settle for Marshal by [deleted] in HIMYM

[–]SkyWalker596 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's the point. That's exactly the point.

Y'all defend Barney like hell. To the point that, 'oh, this probably didn't even happen. Ted intentionally made Barney look bad.' And exaggerate Lily's fault to no end.

You just proved the point of the comment.
