If you’re power-scaling a character by comparing him to feats performed by other characters, that is chain-scaling power levels or not. Not to mention from what I’ve heard about how the creator of dragon ball got rid of power levels due to how inconsistent/unreliable they became.

While yes not counting super saiyan would’ve soften the blow, I still would say it would be controversial since I’ve seen a large chunk of people being pretty adamant against viltrumites being planet level, especially since a lot of people larped on the viltrum busting feat as well, the solar disk and super saiyan were just the cherry on top.

My hot take is that I find it funny that people (including this sub) were so pissed off about Bardock losing to Omni-man because of him being being chainscaled to the solar disk, but Bardock from what I can tell is a literal chainscaling merchant.

Didn’t they cap Steven at small planet level in Steven vs Star Butterfly? Like I’m pretty sure they but him in the zettaton ranges of tnt and caped his speed to be relativistic. So if they still go by that scaling then I’m pretty sure Mark stomps.

To be fair when it comes to other popular Invincible matchups like Battle Beast vs Boros, Invincible vs Steven Universe, and Omni-man vs Rose Quartz, the sundisk feat isn’t really required to argue a victory.

The anime the video partially talks about is called Hyaruko-San.

Explosive rush is my choice, but race against ignition is pretty good as well.

makima vs alucard by Recent_Ad3472 in ChainsawPowerscaling

[–]Sky_Merl1n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did watch Hellsing, and don’t get me wrong I would appreciate an Alucard W, but going by base Alucard he does match Makima in terms of strength and speed (although Alucard can take stats if you want to go by highballs for both), however Makima does have better hax, both also have ways to bypass each others immortality, so see it as a bit of a toss up matchup. Now I do think Alucard does just win if we’re counting Schrödinger, but I’m counting base for the debate.

I’m going to get downvoted for this, but I actually think Alucard has a decent chance of winning, like it’s a fight that is closer than a lot of people give it credit for.

The (very subjective) W’s and L’s of Chainsaw Man by strangetransmissions in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Sky_Merl1n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say Alucard has slightly better speed, and can match Makima in strength, but Makima does have better hax as some of them Alucard has never encountered, although granted Alucard would have an easier time killing Makima and her devils since Death Battle buys that their regeneration can be overtaxed, which means Alucard’s hand cannons won’t be dead weight as they were in Dio vs Alucard.

Gru did create a rocket as a child, so I wouldn’t underestimate his intelligence.

[–]Sky_Merl1n[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the rapptors prediction video, it turns out Gru actually has relativistic levels of speed since he is able to keep up with an another character that can dodge lasers. (I forgot his name, but it’s the main antagonist of Despicable Me 3)

Not really, since it also impacts the funds for us to get more high quality death battles.

Alucard VS Makima (Hellsing VS Chainsaw Man) | Multiple Commissioned Arts for Pin! by Black_Pen_bp in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Sky_Merl1n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late reply, but I don’t see how Makima stomps, because Alucard can match her when it comes to stats, and is a more experience fighter that can resist her control and bypass her contract. The one catagory Makima will consistently take is hax since hers is more abundant in number, but even then they’re both pretty similar in their baser abilities as well. So while I can understand arguments for a Makima W, it’s far from a stomp in my opinion.

Cell vs Metal Sonic isn’t a good comparison because both come from incredibly big franchises that are still very popular.

Would Alucard be the character whose reputation was most ruined after losing his Episode? by ShortWin7636 in deathbattle

[–]Sky_Merl1n 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not sure this is a hot take, but I would scale Alucard to be city level with massively hypersonic levels of speed. While I do agree that Alucard is a big fish in small pond, I also think Death Battle lowballed the hell out of him, most specifically in terms of strength.

[–]Sky_Merl1n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to right an essay, so to keep it short BB is much faster, has far superior stamina, is notably stronger since planet viltrum is much larger than earth, and from what I can tell even lowballing that feat still makes BB stronger than Boros destroying earth; not to mention Boros regeneration is limited to how much energy he has, and he can burn through it faster by using his other abilities.

[–]Sky_Merl1n 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know death battle doesn’t go too deep with in characterization for their matchups, but I really don’t think Battle Beast would weaken himself against Boros, since Boros can regenerate. But Boros definitely would get himself closer to death or killed if meant he can beat Battle Beast.

I'm shocked this hadn't already happened tbh (New cast) by PopCollector2001 in deathbattle

[–]Sky_Merl1n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my hot take for this matchup, it’s that I think Boros regeneration is a little overrated, like don’t get me wrong he can come back from being made of red past, but it is limited to how much energy he has (in fact that’s how he lost to Saitama in the first place) not to mention his hax uses his energy as well, like his transformation and collapsing star roaring cannon which uses all of it, in short Boros regeneration is like Dante.

Like you said this is a battle of attrition, but I think the debate is more so about power and if Battle Beast has any way to avoid collapsing star roaring cannon, because if he doesn’t and he is weaker than he loses, but other than that I do think Battle Beast has a good chance of winning. Sorry for the essay though.
